It may only be a case of topping it off with anti-freeze depending on where you live in world, have anti-freeze checked for freezeing level. i recommend 20 degrees below 0 if alaska or that part of world,30 below0 if you top it off and light goes off, thats the problem. the overflow container has a sensor in it that makes the light come on to alert you that coolants low.you need to use the green antifreeze. if you have pets, clean up all spills as anti-freeze is deadly to animals and if consumed by children or adults deadly also. thank you for choosing fixya.com

Where can you find the radiator cap in a volkswagon bora v5

Janet, top up your coolant in the coolant reservoir/expansion tank it is the rounded bottle closer to the shock tower.. Remove Blue or Black cap when engine cold and top up, run engine till warm and recheck after cool and top up again if necessary. Make sure to have leak repaired sooner then later to prevent future costly repair.
Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck

The themomitor on the warning signs keeps flashing. i don't no what it means as i don't have then manuel!

The thermometer image has 2 meanings

1- check your heat gauge the temp might be too high

2- check your coolant level

In your case it is most probably your coolant level.

Top it up with normal water and have it checked out, it must be leaking coolant somewhere.

the coolant bottle is the big round one that looks like a ball with a blue or black flat cap.

How do you replace the seal in the oil cooler n a vw 1992 gli i have the part im just wondering what type of gue you would use ect....

Remove oil filter, remove 27mm hex nut holding oil cooler. Slide oil cooler off shaft, no need to remove coolant hoses. clean contact surfaces and apply grease lightly to assist seal to seat better. No need fos sealant unless contact surfaces pitted and then you can use a gasket maker sealant.

W reg tdi golf looses water from bottle when going down the motorway dose not get hot though

If you top up the bottle all the way,it will lose coolant. Its designed to have an area at the top of the bottle to let the coolant expand when its hot,and then when it cools, the coolant is sucked back in to the radiator. If this is what is happening, all is good.Hope this helps
