2001 Lincoln LS V6. Had the fuel pumps replaced about 3 months ago. Now the power to fuel pump "comes and goes" (I have the back seat out and pump covers off so I can hear). The fuse in the trunk distribution box (fuel pump 15 amp) has blown twice but hasn't happened since. The vehicle will start fine when cold, when it is warmed up, seems like the pumps don't get power. When it won't start, I checked and there is no power to the fuel pump (all fuses and relays are good). Any suggestions would be welcomed.

The vehicle has one fuel pump and it is controlled by the rear electronic module .
Free wiring diagrams here http://www.bbbind.com/free_tsb.html
Enter the vehicle info. Year , make , model an engine . Under system click on Engine , then under subsystem click on fuel controls . Then click the search button , then click the first blue link . The fourth diagram down . You will see fuel pump relay , rear control module , fuel pump module ! I would check the rear electronic module .

SOURCE: cant jump start 2001 lincoln ls

you can but is tricky depending on how easy the starter is to get at.
take your ground cable and hook it to the frame somewhere it will make good contact and touch the possitive cable to the big wire on the starter keep in mind that it will turn over as soon as you touch the big wire on the stater,so turn your ignition key to run and make sure it is in neutral if it's a standard

SOURCE: fuel pump relay or fuse

In most cars it is located at the fuse box or relay fusebox inside the engine compartment or near the fuel pump itself. It could aslo be the fuel pressure regulator if the fuel pump is good.

My fuse keeps blowing on the fuelpump of a Lincoln ls 2001 do I need a new fuel pump

Probably. The fuel pump is really easy to do on an LS. Just remove the rear seat and make sure to keep spark or heat sources away. DO THE FUEL FILTER too. don-ohio

No power from motor to fuel pump

Check owners manual for fuse or relay and rule out. Sounds like fuel pump is suspect. I replaced fuse 7 or 8 times before fuel pump finally crapped out. I sometimes drove two blocks and stalled with no fuel. Pump change was major pain located under back seat on Lincoln LS. Good luck.

2006 lincoln ls wont start? where is the fuel pump located

I changed the fuel pump on my 2000 LS a few years ago. The system is kinda odd. The actual electric fuel pump is in the tank on the right side. The tank is directly below the rear seat. If you remove the seat bottom you will find a 6 inch or so cover. Under the cover there is a plastic, threaded collar that locks the fuel pump into the tank. The driver's side also has a pump, but it works only my venturi effect from the electric pump on the other side. This pump is used to equalize the fuel level from left to right. The drive shaft tunnel prevents all but the very top of the tank from communicating left to right. Also, I would go with a factory pump. It comes with the whole pump, connectors, filter, Pickup, etc. I tried a parts house pump at first. It was only $50 less and only came with the motor.

On my 2001 lincoln ls the car starts up but shuts off. i pump the gas paddle, but it don't take the gas. it feels like the fuel filter is clog or the fuel pump is going out. where is the gas tank?

Please don't pump the gas pedal. It is doing absolutely nothing. The TPS is a potentiometer and sends info to the ECM.
The fuel tank is underneath the car, between the rear seat and the trunk.
Change the fuel-filter first, then if there is no change then you need to run a test to see what the fuel-line pressure is. If it is below 33psi then you may have a leak, a defective fuel-pump, or fuel regulator.

2001 Lincoln LS 3.9 WONT START WITH 12v POWER!

Make sure the battery is fully charged first. Now you need to find out if spark to the spark-plugs is present and that the fuel pump is working. Let me know and we'll go from there.
