Question about Dodge Neon

I am trying to get a 2003 dodge neon wiring outline so i can fix what I believe is a short circuit. It might be in the dashboard or the right front passenger door. Is there an outline or something that I can print?

Go to a local dodge dealer and they will print you out a diagram, most of the time depending on the dealer they do it for free, good luck

First you have test the circuit to find out if it's shorted or an open circuit ! Do you have DVOM - digital volt ohm meter ? You can buy a cheap one for $10.00 - 15.00 at auto parts store . Then you'll need wiring diagrams so you test the right circuits . You can find free wiring diagrams at http://bbbind.com/free_tsb.html . Repeatedly blows fuse to dash lights and tail lights. I have replaced the multifunction switch and the 20 pin plug to the mfs.

I chose an SE model but all models should be basically the same. If the fuse does not blow with the headlamp switch off, that could mean there is a short somewhere on the BLK/YEL wire. Check pin 9 for a short. The BLK/YEL wire feeds the instrument cluster, the remote keyless entry module, the marker lamps, the park lamp filaments, and the license lamp. Try removing all rear lamps to eliminate them as a source of the short. If you can disconnect the cluster and the remote keyless entry module, check them. If no short is found, turn on the park lamps and reconnect/reinstall items until you find what's wrong.

This is either the sensor or an open/shorted circuit leading to the sensor, you need to use a dvom to check it or replace the sensor and atleast eliminate that fault

Horn do not work

If the horn doesn't sound, check the horn fuse in the power distribution center located in the engine compartment. If the fuse is blown, replace it and retest. If it blows again, there is short circuit in the horn, or wiring between horn and fuse block.

Horn is located under vehicle on the front side of the vehicle between fender and front bumper.

My 2004 dodge neon sxt is giving me a p0340 code how do i fix this

A code P0340 could mean one or more of the following has happened:

  • a wire or connector in the circuit could be grounded/shorted/broken
  • the camshaft position sensor may have failed
  • the PCM may have failed
  • there exists an open circuit
  • the crankshaft position sensor may have failed

With a P0340 OBD-II trouble code, diagnosis can be tricky at times. Here are some things to try:

  • Visually inspect all the wiring and connectors in the circuit
  • Check for continuity in the circuit wiring
  • Check the operation (voltage) of the camshaft position sensor
  • Replace the camshaft position sensor as required
  • Check the crankshaft position circuit as well
  • Replace circuit wiring and/or connectors as required
  • Diagnose/replace the PCM as required

Hope this is for any assistance.

"fuse"

Had a similar problem. Apparently the driver had driven a little too far into a parking place and struck the front of the frame (Neon has a low frame) with the concrete parking block. A wire got pinched and eventually failed shorting that fused wire to ground. Check that. It fixed my daughters 2001 Neon and it now starts and runs. BTW, do the turn signals work. With mine, the headlights worked, the radio worked, etc but the turn signals didn't work and the car wouldn't start. My problem was found by a 'fantastic' mechanic, not me.

2003 Dodge neon, car won't start, battery dead. every time we try to start, it flashes FUSE right next to the odometer. What's the problem and can we fix it?

Its asking you to check the fuses, one of them must be blown and is also causing the battery to drain its charge. So first check the fuses in the dashboard, check the wiring for any shorting of the circuit and then get the battery recharged once.................sodeep
