Remove the trim plate, and the control assembly .in behind that is the actuator for the blend unit. This is not an easy thing to fix.there may be a broken vacuum line,or linkage.

Heat is out on 1999 jeep grand cherokee limited

I had this problem on a 99 grand cherokee limited, It was the heater blend doors and if you have dual climate control one side usually goes out before the other. These blend doors are located behind the glove box unaccessible inside the HVAC shell.
(http://www.wjjeeps.com/hvac_sub_assembly.htm) Motor failures for this HVAC sub assemblies is also something to look for although much less common.
My local dealership estimated $$$$$$$$$950.00 because they have to remove the entire dash so I looked around for something else.

I used something similar to this and now have heat that is controlled solely by the knob nearest the driver. It wasn't very difficult just kind of a tight squeeze.
Hope this helps
GOOD LUCK

1999 blazer blows cold air replace thermostats and flush out h.c.

if you turn the temp switch to cold and then to hot and it stays the
same you could have a blen door stuck. If you have a little heat go to a radiator shop and get a power flush they are the only one that can do a good flush

No heat comes out only cold air. It started with one side going out then the other. What do you think it could be?

If you have automatic temp control, the blend door accuator could be bad. If you have normal temp controls, the heater control valve could be bad.

sounds like the drivers temp door actuator is not working should be located on the drivers side of the air box down by the gas pedal or center dash area

Air condition

unfortunatelly this type of trucks has very comun problems with the blend door geting broken, make sure to have the bleen door inspected for posible broken part, be carrefull some mechanics will misdiagnose saying the blend door motor is bad, ask to doble check for posible blen door problem, the blend door controls the heat and cold, going to your cab
