Question about 1995 Volkswagen Jetta
I bought a pre-pwned (OK - used!) VW New Beetle from a VW dealership. There has alwasy been a "splash" area of clearcoat paint missing and I was willing to live with that small amount. Now, the area is getting bigger and more little areas seem to be starting to chip (just the clear coat, I think - not the color if that makes sense).
The car is only 6 years old and the paint is falling off - this leads me to two conclusions: 1) the paint sucks and always has and VW should correct it, or 2) the car was in an accident (which they never disclosed) and was poorly repainted after the accident.
What do you advies?
The paint on VW's is actually pretty good. Check on carfax.com run your vin# and see if it was in an accident
