Question about 1990 Ford F150

F-150 Problem I have a 1986 F-150. It runs great, but after it has warmed up, if you shut the engine off and then try to start it again, it acts as if the battery is dead and won't start easily. It just turns over and over. However, as soon as the engine cools down some, it starts right up without hesitation. Does anyone have any suggestions about what might be causing this? Dennis My ford 1990 F150 custom 4 w/d has a problem no one can solve I wish someone can help me When the motor is cold it start the very best but when the motor get's warm or hot soon as I stop the motor died and if I try to start it back it turn as if the starter was draging I have to wait 5 10 minute and then it start just like a new one. anybody can help me please

Was sitting at a railroad track waiting for a train to pass. After 15 minutes or so, I noticed my engine was running hot. I turned around and decided to take another route. As soon as I started going again, the temp came back down to normal.

Starter motor, it's called polling, when the starter is hot it catches on the body of the starter and can't turn. Common fault with the older clapper starters, if u have a remote mounted solenoid I suggest an upgrade to a later model starter with solenoid on it

After warm up ,1999 DOHC Taurus shuts down no start till 15-20 min cool down, then starts and runs till warm up again,no lights on ??? Help

More likely its a temperature fault with a water temp or incoming air temp telling the ecu there's a problem. See if you can find an engine diagram of the various sensors and get an auto elect or good DIYer to help. Try "images" on google or bing for a diagram.

Dodge dakota backfire

It sounds like you need a good tune-up, such as spark plugs and/or wires. They will act up when cold and when warmed by engine temperature will let the engine run smoothly again. And possibly a distributor cap/rotor.

You need to have the ECU checked for any codes.

After my 1991 ford f250 with a 5.0 engine warms up it acts like the timings off

Could be several things.
If the ignition module on the side of the distributor is failing, it can cause the plugs to fire at the wrong times.
If the distributor cap is faulty it can do the same thing.
If one of the injectors is leaking, it can fill one of the cylinders with fuel when you shut the engine off. It would act like the engine is flooded when you try to start it.

1990 honda accord ex does not start when hot?

Sounds like the pgmfi relay is going out. This is a common problem with these cars. They get hot and dont want to work, they cool off and everything is ok.

Sounds like possible crank sensor failure, will work till warms up they have to cool, then will work again. Also monitor fuel preasure, fuel pumps can act this way too.

My dad is having trouble starting his 95 GMC Safari Conversion van after it has been running. After setting overnight the van starts right up. If he runs a short errand, turns it off, then tries to start...

My 1997 safari was doing the same. After being shut off for a short period of time it started as if it was flooded. If I put the accelerator to the floor it would fire up. As well, I had no engine codes to report. I replaced the fuel pressure regulator and everything is great. It was leaking fuel into the engine causing it to act flooded when starting. Once started, the computer system made adjustments for the leaking fuel so the engine ran fine. If you turn the van off and immediately try to start it, it should fire up. (don't give it time to leak extra fuel into the engine)
