Horn blows and lights flash when vehicle is parked

Hi Ron:
This is the ALARM function that is happening. It may be defective, and it may be that someone has your second set of keys and is goofing around. Rarely, there may be someone in your immediate vicinity that has the same remote code.
I see two choices, trouble shoot or disable the alarm.

1998 cadillac horn goes off randomly

Sounds like a bad horn button which is actually part of the airbag. Replace your airbag. They're cheap on e-bay and it's not hard to do. Just make sure you disconnect the battery before doing any airbag work.

Horn is randomly honking and cargo door is unlatching.

fix unlatching and alarm gets happy?
find why the latch fails.
this will take close inspection of the latch. and its controls.

How do you fix the horn from sticking

Good Evening. This is a common problem with these cars, with some age the plastic of the airbag/horn shrinks and increases the pressure on the horn switch inside and makes the horn go off randomly or all the time. The appropriate repair is to replace the horn/drivers airbag. I would try your local auto salvage yard for a quality replacement part. I hope this helps and if you have any other questions please feel free to ask.

1993 Ford Escort 1.9L Auto Randomly Stalls

I don't have the solution, but I have the same exact problem on my 1991 Escort 1.9L with auto with 120K miles. I replaced the IAC with no difference. In fact I unplugged it, and still had the random stalling. Also disconnected the EGR vacuum line...still stalled randomly. After it stalls it always starts right back up again. Sometimes it will act as if it's going to stall, but comes back to normal idle. Park or Drive makes no difference. Acceleration and all normal driving is fine. The next thing I was going to try is hooking up a timing light and watch to see if the timing light stops flashing as it's stalling, and/or hooking up a fuel pressure gauge somehow, to the fuel rail, to see if the pressure drops when stalling....to figure out if its ignition or fuel related.

1996 Chrysler Cirrus horn wouldn't stop beeping too!!!

was it hot outside-heat could deform the steering wheel horn pad and make the horn go off, remove the horn pad and airbag unit(take fuse out for airbag system wait a few mins)then put the fuse that you removed back in place and see if the horn goes off again.

Horn

my horn did the same thing - we disconnected the horn (which in an 02' is behind the passenger side headlight) I'm sure it's wearing out and we need to replace it.
