Question about 1997 Saab 9000

Have got a 1997 saab 9000 cs hatchback.When I put my foot on the clutch it makes a whirring noise.Dissapears when clutch not engaged. Any ideas? Theres also a strange rubber smell after being driven for 30 min or more. Cheers

Throw out bearing is going bad. When you depress the pedal it makes contact with a bearing that contacts the clutch fingers. Bearing is shot. Continue running this way and the pressure plate will be ruined.

sounds like the brake interlock is not functioning check the fuse. when u start the car in aprk. it will not shoift untill u put your foot on the brake. its a safety intelock... possibly the interlock isnt functioning

if i had a dollar for evry faulty part i installed id have a lot of dollars. no seriously it sounds like they put one of the cups in backwards

Clutch is not engageing


Is your linkage hooked up and adjusted? How about your throw out bearing is it positioned correctly on the clutch fork?

I have a 1997 saab 900 which has had a new motor fitted to it previous to buying it, but still had roof problems! I have pushed the red lever in back and managed to get roof back down and closed at front...


If the 5th bow latch motor has been relpaced, and is working properly you may need to have the soft to reprogrammed by someone with a saab tech2

Where is the fuel filter located on a 1997 Saab 9000 CS 3.0 turbo


The fuel filter is located under the car in front of the right rear wheel.
