The bendix in your starter motor (which is the ring gear that pushes out to engage with the flywheel) is faulty and not retracting after the car starts. The starter may be able to be repaired by replacing the bendix, but if it was me, I'd just replace the whole starter motor right off the bat.

My 2002 Range Rover makes a loud ticking noise when I start it and when I accellerate or stop it gets louder its not over heating and not loosing any power.. what should I get fixed?

Could be your lifters are loose(Tappits) have a mechanic tighten them down for you, but they have to be at proper tork , If the ticking noise is really loud you also could have a broken connecting arm on one of your pistons, that is very bad, some vehicles can be driven for awhile with that noise, but if it is that your motor is done!

2002 trailblazer making loud humming noise when driving

When you turn right - you're taking weight off the right wheel.
If the noise dissipates - the passenger side wheel bearing is most likely to blame.

Thanks

Why would the engine make a loud noise when you start it and hesitate before starting?

Starter could be going.. as for the loud noise, can you describe it a bit more? Does it stay or is it just when you start it. Have you tried starting it cold and starting it when it's warm (already been driven for awhile) does it do the same thing or is it just when you start it "cold"?!

Surging and loud whistling noise

Sounds like a vacuum leak. Check all vacuum hoses on the intake, throttle body, etc. Sounds like one cracked or came off. Post back if you have any questions. Hope this helps.
