I would take the cover off the pumpkin differential and check to see if anything came loose, if not the transfer case may a vaccum that came off or gears in transfer case exploded, hope this will help you out, otherwise u'll have to take to a shop

Does the 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee alloy wheels have a lock nut to prevent theft?


The wheels develop their own type of anti-theft protection over time.....it's called corrosion. The aluminum rims sort of bond to the rotor over time and have to be coaxed off. You will have to remove all the lug nuts and then start kicking the wheel, alternating with kicks to the top and bottom. The wheel will eventually come loose. I've seen this happen on many Jeeps, especially in the salt-belt, harsh weather areas. Kick away.

with the car safely supported try kicking the tire off. You can also try a large hammer swinging from behind the tire. You can also try putting the lug nuts on loosely and driving the car back and froth until the wheel falls off.

Can I get directions on how to replace my front rotors that have the bearings attached. Do I need to grease or lube any parts


the rotor is separate from the hub in both 4 and 2 wheel drive F150's, the rotor just slides off the wheel studs after the brake caliper is removed, it may be rusted and so u may have to work it a bit to break the rust bond, the bearings are sealer and never need grease, see picture of hub and bearing below.

How to remove the brake rear left side


If you have rear Rotors, there is a complete drum inside the Rotor for the Emergency brakes. The Star wheel is an adjustment wheel for slack on this part. You need to turn the star wheel to let the Rotor slip off.

Also, block your wheels, disconnect Battery, then put Gearshift in Neutral. Turn the wheel and you can work the Rotor off. You may have to use Penetrating oil on the outside of the Rotor and the center "Ring" of the axle. Oil and turn the Rotor, 1 stud at a time.
Hit the rotor between the studs and the center of the Axle.

What you are trying to accomplish is getting oil into the stud holes so that it runs into the rotor and loosens the rust bond.

When you reassemble the parts, buy some Antiseize compound and smear it on the axle so the rotor can not rust together again.

This advice and the star wheel instructions also holds true for drum brakes too!.

then they are rusted to the hub face, spray rust removing penetrating oil all around the face of the drum into the wheel lug holes and let it set, they strike the face of the drum with a brass faced hammer until the rust bond is broken

Cant get them off the van. is there a snap-ring? rear brake drums


sometimes there a clip over the stud were the lug nut goes you would see it once the wheel is off, try hitting drum with a hammer in front to break free, if drum is loose but wont come all the way off then you will have to unadjust the brake adjuster ,its done through a window on the rear of the backing plate ( backside of were the drum is,) hope this helps.

Took off lug nuts,popped center cap, tire wont come off


if you have alloy wheels, it is common that there is a reaction with the alloy and cast metal , causing the wheel to really stick tight to the hub. You need to knock the wheel off with a big hammer, possibly a sledge hammer. Hit it from the inside on the rim, this should brake the bond and you should be able to remove the wheel. Please do this in a safe manner, use an axle stand to support the car. once the wheel is off, do what you must and when refitting, clean the hub area where the wheel sits and use a smear of copper slip or vaseline or grease , to stop the same thing happening again. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES put any grease on the wheel studs/nuts or bolts

I can't locate the starter solenoid on my 2000 chevy silverado. Where is it?


(Starter) Solenoid - Removal & Installation
  1. Remove the starter motor.
  2. Reposition the M-terminal stud weather cover.
  3. Clean the epoxy coating from the M-terminal stud.
  4. Loosen the M-terminal stud nut.
  5. Remove the cable from the M-terminal stud.
  6. Remove the solenoid bolts.
  7. Separate the solenoid from the housing and unhook the solenoid plunger from the drive gear lever.
  8. Note that the spring (3) is positioned against the drive gear lever (1) and the drive gear lever is placed inside the solenoid plunger loop (2).

  9. Remove the solenoid housing.
  10. If necessary, remove the solenoid plunger and spring.
To install:
  1. If necessary, install the solenoid plunger and spring.
  2. Using Three Bond silicone 1207B, GM P/N 97720043, seal the starter solenoid attachment area.
    WARNING Make sure that the drive gear lever (1) is properly installed into the solenoid plunger (2) loop. Improper installation of the drive gear lever will cause an abnormal or no operation condition of the starter.

  3. Install the solenoid, making sure to insert the drive gear lever (1) into the solenoid plunger (2) loop, perform the following:
    1. Pull the gear lever (1) out away from the starter housing and pull the plunger (2) out away from the solenoid.
    2. Tip the solenoid and insert the lever into the loop, push the solenoid against the housing.
  4. Install the solenoid bolts and tighten the bolts to 89 inch lbs. (10 Nm).
  5. Wipe the excess silicone pressed out during the solenoid installation from around the base of the solenoid to make a weather proof seal.
  6. Install the cable to the M-terminal stud between the washers and terminal nut.
  7. Tighten the M-terminal stud nut and tighten the nut to 71 inch lbs. (8 Nm).
  8. Using Three Bond silicone 1207B, GM P/N 97720043, seal the M-terminal stud connection.
  9. Reposition the M-terminal stud weather cover.
  10. Bench test the starter in a free-run condition prior to installation.
  11. Install the starter motor.

I need to replace a broken wheel stud but could not remove the drum in 2005 dodge grand caravan


get a 4lb sledge hammer and wack the outer face of the drum in a criss cross pattern being careful not to hit too hard or hit lug nut studs, use some liquid wrench around the studs before hitting to dislodge rust bond

Can't get flat tyre off BMW 530D 2003 model


Try spraying the lug holes with a lubricant and being very careful with the care properly supported slowly turn the wheel while hitting the back of the tire with a small sledge style hard rubber mallet. This should break the bond between rim and the face of the brake rotor.
