Question about 2001 Ford F150 Styleside SuperCrew

1 Answer

I have a 2001 f150 and first I would like to know if its necessary to let the truck warm up in the morning and after warming up as long as the truck is in park or neutral the truck runs smooth but soon as I put the truck in drive it starts to run like groggy or like it starts to jump. I have 130,000 miles just had oil change and tried the injector cleaner, but didn't change spark plugs in six months.......please help me...

It could be numerous things but I can point out a few things I do different than some. I use Di-Electric grease on my COP's to reduce morning moisture or even when washing the engine.. If you get moisture under these, it will cause it to run as you explained or not at all. You may need to get a plug that fires hotter which will cause a better combustion. As far as the injector cleaning, did you use the pour in or was it run directly into the system by a shop? I know you're looking for a small amount of info, but I drive a Ford and the new E3 plugs give a little more power, but no fuel savings. I would use the OEM Platinum. Good Luck.

2001 triton 5.4 warm but will not idle or when its cold

Could be the IAC valve (idle air control) , a vacuum leak or several other things. Take it to a local autoparts store and have them read the codes in the computer. That should tell you more. Reading the codes is usually done free of charge.

2001 tdi transmission wont go in gear until car is warmed up

if this is an automatic they are known for having many issues. It will require an inspection to diagnose the cause. If its a manual you probably need to change the fluid either way an inspection by a transmission shop should be done

Truck runs rough

Sounds like one of your chambers isn't firing. Run your car for a few minutes, shut it off then pull your plugs one at a time and see if one of them is wet. Might just need a new plug.
