Question about Nissan Sentra

1 Answer

I have a 2006 Nissan Sentra. When the check engine light came on I had it checked out and it came back with the code po128 coolant temp below thermostat regulated temperature. I have been told that my water pump is leaking, could this be part of the problem?

By the sounds on it it seems like you have a bad sensor and faults wiring to the sensor

PO 128 is a coolant temperature beyond threshold code. It means your thermostat is stuck and needs to be replaced.

Where is the engine coolant temp sensor on gmc envoy 2004 xuv

More than likely the thermostat is stuck open. You should replace the thermostat and the temp sensor. See picture below for location.

Where is the ECT sensor on the 2006 Nissan Sentra. the error code was PO128

P0128 is a code for engine temp below regulated temp. It usually sets when the t-stat goes bad and is either broken or stuck open. Either of which can happen on the sentra. Replace the t-stat (especially if you have noticed that your temp gauge has been reading a little low) and that should solve the problem.

2002 nissan frontier 3.3L has check engine light on code is P0128 I would li to know what is the problem

po128 usually means your engine is not reach a high enough operating temp. the most likely cause is a stuck open thermostat, make sure you have good clean coolant in your vehicle, and replace the thermostat and radiator cap is a good cheap place to start if your into doin it yourself.

Engine help light, read code, said coolant or therastat trouble, but car runs fine, has heat must be sensor, but which one?

Most likely it will be your coolant temp sensor not the switch. Also check the level of your coolant. If its even a little low it can trigger the light.

I have a heating problem on my nissan sentra 98 model 160 gsi , auto , it only heats if i drive for about an hour , and if i drive over 100 km per hour

check your thermostat this regulates the coolant temp at factory preset temp.engine will warm up quickly.the thermostat opens up to allow coolant to circulate at preset temp. ang closes below specified temp.

Check engine light on

this code indicates the engine is running below correct coolant temp (running cold), replace the thermostat and clear the code.

Showing a engine service soon

The code that it is throwing is P0128, "Coolant Temp Below
Thermostat Regulating Temp. If your car is not running hot try this. If it is running hot take it to the shop or replace your thermostat yourself this is probably the problem.
Simply disconnect your battery, turn on the headlight switch for about five to ten minutes, and re-connect the battery. This is pretty simple, but will likely result in you losing your radio presets and perhaps some other small things like that.
This will reset your light. If it comes back on your thermostat or temper sensor may be bad.
Good Luck Hope this helps>
