Question about 1997 Audi A4
Hi, Can someone tell me how the rear bumper come off the Audi A4 1997? I have removed the screws in the boot, the bumper should slid out towards the rear, is there any screws around the wheel arches that reqire taking off?
The main support for the rear bumper is two bolts along the chassis rail under the carpet in the boot/trunk. One of these bolts also holds the rear cargo straps in place. Remove these bolts.
The side of the bumper on A4's is held in place by large retaining clips top and bottom. A slight contortion of the bumper is required to release it from these clips before walking it backwards off the car (lift the side of the bumper from underneath and then pull outwards to unclip - you'll know when you've achieved it!).
Also check for miscellaneous screws holding inner guard/fender trim in place that may be holding onto the bumper
