Manual or auto hubs?how do u now it is not engaging?.u can lift the front end up in 4 wheel make sure hubs r engaged .rotate the tire by hand ,and check to see if the drive shaft is turning [from the wheel to the front diff] u most likely have a bad locking hub.if it is not turning ur front tire is not locked up

change actuator in front hub water gets in there freezez and ruber seal rips part only 120.00 bucks not hard to change beat upper ball joint take of spindle nut think it was 5/8 3 bolts in back should fall out

look on fire wall pass. side you will see 2 parts with vacume lines attached 99 percent of the time that is what went i had the same problem

I am going to assume that you have auto 4x4, and not manual shift base model.. it just sounds like the servo motor that shifts between 2x4 and 4x4, has gone bad
does it still engage into low range, even though it is stuck in 2x4?
