More often then not ,whats happen is the wiper arm is loose on the motor shaft. with the wipers turn off see if its possible for you to move the rear wiper arm by hand ! if so its loose now position the wiper arm in the rest position then flip up the cover on the end of the wiper arm were the arm comes out of the rear hatch, you"ll find a nut there, snug it up (tighten it ) reinstall the cover and try it now,it should fix your problem

The ball joint may have snapped inside so the motor is no longer attached to the arm, has it been used in freezing conditions? often they snap this way, also the ball joint may have just popped off, you will ned to open it up, they are fairly straight forward so the problem would be obvious once open.

I would try replacing the wiper arm itself and also make sure that there is no binds in the motor or rubbing anything inside the door

sounds like a loose nut. there are nuts that hold the wiper arms on, they may be under a cover but theyre at the base of the wiper arm. also there's a nut that holds the wiper linkage onto the wiper motor. if you can move the wipers independently, it's the nuts connecting the wiper arms.if you move one arm and the other moves with it, it's the nut holding the linkage to the motor.

Don't make this more difficult than it is. One of the gears inside the wiper motor is made out of bad quality plastic, and wont last very long. Replace it with a used one is just a wast of money, get a brand new one.
