A. There is an emergency fuel door release accesible from the trunk. Pull to open fuel door.

B. Electric release solonoid is behind trunk lining. One bolt , one electical plug and cable disconnect. REplace solonoid if failed. Troubleshoot from button at glove box to solonoid.

Usually they are opened via cable. you'll have to trace the cable and replace it, if it's broke. Sometimes you just need to lubricate the lever where you activate the door.

SOURCE: '89 Park Avenue fuel door will not open

You may find a release for the fuel filler door in the trunk. Look behind the carpet on the side the filler is on and at about the same level.

Were would the fuse to the fuel door be located? My fuel door will not pop open, when I press the fuel button. Either a fuse has blown or there is no power to the release button.

the problem will be more likely a broken spring at the fuel door
it flips the door open but when it breaks the door still remains locked closed
it takes 2 people , one to hold the button to open and the other to pry the door open
once open replace the spring ( available from a spare parts department at the service dealer )
take it to a service dealer for a quicker fix as it is a common fault with all cars

There is another release in the right rear passenger side of the trunk. A little WD-40 on the latch will help.

you will need to have someone press the button while you push in on the door, if that does not up it the do the same thing but with a screw drive gently pry out on it. either way once it is up spray with WD40 PB Blaster to lube it up and it should fix the problem. hope this helped tim

How do i open gas tank on a 1997 mazda millenia

Either pull the lever located near the driver seat in the vehicle, or get a flathead screwdriver and gently pop it open if your pullstring on the lever is broken.

Petrol Fuel Cap door won't open

I had the same problem. Pressing the fuel door unlock button did not work, and I couldn't find any emergency release in the cargo/trunk area. Eventually, I clicked the Lock / Unlock button on the key fob a couple of times and tried again, this time holding the fuel door release button for 1-2 seconds, and it worked. I then sprayed some door lock lubricant into the fuel door lock in case there was something sticking in the mechanism. Don't know if this truly "fixed" the problem, but it's working now.

when get door open adjust the clip to door by bending slightly away from door latch control
the electrics still work its just the clip catching to much switch
