Hi When i try to open the roof (full - cabrio) i

I had the same problem and the solution is very simple. The 2 plastic pieces near the back seats which open widely (on the right and left from the seats) are stuck with the roof during the opening. All you have to do is gently push them out with your hand and the roof will open normally.

My regulator went bad and i cant get the tailgate to open info center says tailgate see manual

Try lowering the window with your key. After it is completely lowered try opening it either way, down or swing out. When you get it open, lubricate all moving parts.

2004 GMC Envoy XUV tailgate won't open downward. Tailgate will swing open but will not open downward. Nothing happens when pressing in on pressure pad/switch...it is as if there's no power going to it.

Do you live in a dusty area? My sister lives in dusty New Mexico and had a malfunctioning XUV tailgate. My reasoning was that something must tell the tailgate not to drop down if the glass is up, and if it can't tell, then it will only open sideways.
So we removed the trim panel, and the tailgate was indeed full of dust. By reaching my arm in, I found two plastic optical sensors which tell the gate whether the glass is up or down; both were coated with dust. After cleaning these the tailgate was back to its normal operation. The two sensors are flat, round - about the size of a nickel or dime...I couldn't see them, just found them by guessing that they must be there. Hope this helps!

'02 Freelander 5dr. Tailgate will not open, the window drops but not enough to release tailgate, the window works fine off the facia switch, but the door will not open. How can I open th door ?.

I think that you will need to remove the inside panel of the tailgate to find the exact problem. I would suggest that you take it to an auto glass proffesional (like The Glass Doctor) and have them look at it. They do this every day. If you are going to do the work yourself maybe one of the techs there will let you pick his brain a little.

Broken handle on tailgate

Hello. Yes that is exactly what you need to do. Once the screws are out you can pull the handle assembly out just enough to disconnect it from the latch release rods. Not too far, you don't want to bend the rods. Those little connectors you see just unsnap from the rods, then they swing away so you can pull the rod out of where it connects to the handle mechanism. Have a piece of wire handy to hook the rod so it doesn't fall out of reach, but even if it does it won't go far. I'm enclosing a picture of a typical "swing away" connector so you can see how it unsnaps from the rod. I think yours will be green and blue, so remember which is which, one goes on the right and one on the left84cc4fe.jpg

91 4 runner tailgate, window wont open

No there is no bypass. The Motor in my tailgate crapped out on me last year partly to do with a rusted out tailgate that let water in! I replaced my tailgate, but in my research found that the only way to get the window down was to remove the inside panels on the tailgate, un screw the cover plate, and then unbolt the motor to allow the window to drop enough to open the tailgate. Once the tailgate is down it will be easier to see the internals and remove the motor. Hope this helps you

1996 Isuzu Rodeo stuck tail gate

Remove the interior trim panel which will not be easy since the gate is up ---- you can then access the lock mechanism and will probably find a bent linkage rod or a broken plastic retainer clip.
