2004 GMC Envoy XL Loss of power

My 04 Envoy has some issues. The 1st one is that the Service Engine Soon light comes on intemittently, and I don't know what it could be. The 2nd issue is that my truck seems to loose power when driving up hill with my AC turned on, any ideas what can cause this? An the last issues is that it sometimes overheat when driving for around 30 min plus, with the AC turned on all the fluid levels are fine but I cannot figure out what could be causing this. Can you give me any solutions for any of these problem?

Thanks,
Carlos

I also have an '04 Envoy XL. The problem we had was very similar. The truck lost power and the wife and kids were stuck on the interstate. It was the catalytic converter totally clogged. We were told by our trusted mechanic that we were lucky not to have blown a head gasket from the back pressure. Two days after having the converter replaced the check engine light came on. I went to Autozone to have the codes read. I don't remember the code number but it was basically that the thermostat was stuck open and the engine was running too cool causing it to run rich and clog the converter. I did not get a light until after and the light went out on it's own. I hope this helps you. GOOD LUCK!

you need to replace the tccm and get it programmed.

This bulletin is being revised to add Subject information and change the labor operation. This bulletin cancels and supersedes Bulletin Number 03-04-21-006. Please discard Corporate Bulletin Numbers 02-04-21-006D and 03-04-21-006 (Section 04 -- Driveline/Axle).
ConditionSome customers may comment that the 4WD/AWD indicator lights on the selector switch do not work, or the 4WD/AWD system may be inoperative and/or the service 4WD light is illuminated. The condition is typically intermittent and always occurs at key-up. Upon investigation, the technician may find DTC C0550 set.
CauseThe Transfer Case Control Module (TCCM) has not received the wake-up call during key-up and has remained in the "sleep mode".
When the TCCM is in the "sleep mode", it will not communicate with the class II bus or the Tech 2®.
Correction
  1. Try to communicate with the TCCM. If no communication, go to step 2. If communication is possible, go to step 5.
  2. Remove the underhood (ATCM or TREC) TCCM fuse.
  3. Wait 30 seconds.
  4. Reinstall the fuse. The module should "wake up" and communicate with the Tech 2®.
  5. Check for codes in the TCCM. If a C0550 is found current or in history with or without other codes, replace the module and go to step 6.
  6. Reprogram the TCCM with the latest TIS software using normal SPS procedures.
  7. Verify operation and that no codes are present.
Important: For the 2002 model year, the TCCM must be replaced and reprogrammed.

My service engine soon light came on the instrument panel on my 2004 GMC ENVOY

You need to go to a auto parts store like Autozone, they will read the fault codes for free and provide you with a printout of the reason for the check engine light being on.

I have a 2004 GMC Envoy with 82400 miles. My service engine soon light continuously stays on. I have had it in the shop numerous times and they have run diagnostics. I have had a tune up done, 2 sensors...

You need to let us know what the fault code(s) is. Did anyone ever give this information when they were working on the vehicle? There are many reasons for the check engine light to be turned on.

I have a service engine soon light and the code that appeared when check is 1481, do you know what this means?

Service Engine Soon (SES) or Check Engine Light On, DTC P0480, P0526/P1481/P1484 Set (Replace Engine Cooling Fan Wiring Harness) #05-06-02-012B - (10/19/2006)

Models:2004-2006 Buick Rainier
2002-2006 Chevrolet TrailBlazer, TrailBlazer EXT
2002-2006 GMC Envoy, Envoy XL,

Some customers may comment that the Service Engine Soon (SES) or Check Engine light is illuminated. This condition may be intermittent and upon investigation, the technician may find either DTC P0480, P0526, P1481 or P1484 set.

This condition may be caused by the cooling fan harness chaffing against the plastic guide it routes through. This contact may damage the insulation of the wires enclosed in that harness.

Replace the wire harness:
Part Number 89024920 Description Harness Assembly, Engine Cooling Fan Wiring

Good luck and keep me posed.

If there is an engine code po410 you have problems with your airpump. There are bulletins out on this situation.
