Try this test
place in neutral with the park brake on
start the engine if it idles alright put your foot on the brake
if it falters or plays up ,it is a vacuum leak in the brake booster
replace the booster

It sounds like your clutch is slipping. Does it do it more when the wagon is loaded or going uphill?
Most likely needs a new clutch.

sounds like you may have a dirty throttle body by a can of carbon cleaner remove the intake pipe of at the throttle body see if it is black greasy spray the t/b with the cleaner and clean with a soft rag then spray the rest of the can through the t/b while engine is running at about 2000rpm you will find it will idle a lot smoother cold or hot.reards agwbk
