You must be getting that price from the dealer. A/P stores show them from about $35.00/ea to about $72.00/ea. If the sensors are whats wrong, you will do just as good to use the aftermarket part as the dealer iem.

Very simple as far as I am concerned, the sensor is held on by a bolt and it has a wiring harness that just plugs in.

99 gmc jimmy abs light comes on and off brakes are acting up more and more the pedel gets real hard to puch and then they skid till the truck stops.... just replaced booster didnt fix it

you have a bad abs wheel sensor. each wheel has there own independent sensor. You need to have it scanned, usually about 40 bucks. You can have a mechanic do it or do it yourself. They usually are only one plug and bolt holding them in. Mechanic will charge about 100 bucks to do it and it only takes 15-20 minutes. JC Whitney has them for your truck for about 30 bucks. The brakes will NOT work correctly until you fix this. You can mess up the module if you dont fix and theyre costly. Be safe and get it fixed.
follow this link:
scroll down to disconnecting the abs sensor, this will show you how to remove and replacing is the opposite. You need the scan to find out what wheel it is, good luck

I replaced front brake pads on 2007 dodge grandcaravan brakes seem fine but ABS light is on

Each wheel has its own ABS sensor. Check to make sure that you haven't accidently disconnected the wire from 1 of the wheel hubs. If they are connected then you have to check and make sure the sensor is not damaged. If yoiu cannot see any obvoius damage then you need to test each wheel sensor to see which sensor is malfuntioning so you know which one to replace they are ezspensive so you do not want to just replace them untill you find the right one it is worth paying a garage to determind which wheel is the problem by testing each wheel.

ABS stays on a 2001 GMC Jimmy

This is a common issue, and is pretty easy to fix. There are ABS sensors on the wheels, and you have a bad one. Usually the wires become corroded, and are easy to spot. The unit is on the back side of the wheel assembly.

ABS and bake warning light on and speedo not working

All I can think of is that the speed sensor on the transmission output shaft has become disconnected. Without the ABS system able to know what the output shaft speed is it will disable itself as it needs a reference to determine when a wheel is spinning or locking up. Fix the speed sensor problem and the ABS problem will fall back into line. It might take s little while for the ECU to reset the warning light so if you are in a hurry disconnect the battery negative lead for 5 minutes and this should clear the recorded error.

ABS Problem in my 2000 Jimmy 4x4

the best way to diagnose this problem would be with a scan tool while driving and watching the speed sensors, or check all your wheel tone rings make sure there are no cracks and they are clean, also have the computer scaned for abs codes there should be a code that may tell you which wheel speed sensor is acting up,you can also check the wiring, these seem to chaf the wiring by the control arm .a bad wheel bearing may also cause this problem, i would start with a scan of the abs system, good luck.

ABS is tripping for the past 2 years

Check your ABS sensor on your wheel hub. The ABS sensor may be going bad or needs to be re gaped. You can do the work your self to save you some money, Take the front wheel off and look for your ABS sensor, There is going to be a wire harness along your upper A arms, just follow it to the wheel hub. Give it a good spray with brake parts cleaner and re gap it closer to the speed ring on the wheel hub. If you don't have a feeler gap, you can use a dime as the gap reference. After your have done all that and you still have the problem, you can go to the dealer and have them look up if there was a recall campaign for the ABS activating during low speed stops. Good luck and keep me posted Be glad to help.

1997 GMC Jimmy braking problem

the abs control unit controls the speedo (tach) also tells the cruise signal. abs should be fixed or replaced for any of these to work properly with the abs system not working you have no signal to the ecu to say what fuel air mix is for the speed you are doing and will think you are idling.

Rear wheel abs

This is always extremely difficult as these abs sensors become jammed in the hole after a couple of years, I usually strip everything down around the sensor and smash it out with a hammer and screw driver or centre punch. you will find that the new sensor will go back in easily with a little lubrication.
