Oil accidentally put in the radiator overflow on a 01 cavalier . can this b fixed n is the car shot ?thank you !!!

I'd you pored it in there yes can be fixed pull reservoir off and clean if car has be turned on. Eng running. Then flush out complete system. If the car did this on its own. What I mean is you opened Cao and seen oil in there. You could have a cracked head. Or blown head gasket. Repairs are not cheap on this.

Oil was put in the overflow by accident 01 cavilier

Not a huge problem as long as you DO NOT run the car. You will find a valve or petcock at the bottom of radiator open it and drain all fluid from radiator - then using a flush kit from Walmart follow package directions and do a full flush of cooling system. I would do it twice, then refill with appropriate fluids should be good to go for under 30 bucks and an hour or so of your time

What would happen if I accidentally put transmission oil in the engine of 2001 sentra?

Not much as long as you didn't drive it very far.
Transmission fluid has lubricating properties like motor oil but it is much thinner.
All you need to do is drain it and change the filter.

What would happen if I accidentally put transmission oil in the engine?

How much transmission fluid did you add? In the old days adding a quart of tranny fluid to the engine oil was used to loosen valve springs etc...only running a day or 2 then draining completely..and refilling with quality engine oil...If you only added a need to drain all the oil as if doing a regular oil change the filter should be just fine...don't put this off.

I just got a new radiator put on my 2001 impala but now oil is leaking it wasnt before . the person that put it on said i had to much oil in my car. why would it be leaking now.

Thats not oil,its transmission fluid. The transmission fluid also runs through the radiator to help cool it off. Most likely, when the radiator was replaced, and they hooked the transmission lines back up,they either broke an o-ring on the lines,or dont have it locked in all the way. I cant remember if the lines are threaded or not,...but either way, happened when the radiator was replaced,ad should be taken back to the shop that did it,and have them fix it. For FREE of course...

Hello i recently 'i think' blew my engine about a week ago i have a 2006 pontiac grand prix 3800 v6 i checked the RADIATOR and it had oil but the oil doest have water. help

flush and drain your radiator and put new coolant and see what happens then if oil shows up again replace radiator because the transmission coolant line runs to the bottom of the radiator so it might be a problem there

What can cause oil to enter the radiator

Only two ways for that to happen. Either you have a blown head gasket (gasket de-laminates and permits oil to travel to a water jacket) or your automatic transmission cooler (actually inside one tank of the radiator) has failed. Unless someone accidentally poured oil in there, that's the only way oil can enter. Reddish oil is from the transmission, brown is engine. After repair, make sure you change/replace the oil in which ever system is turns out to be as coolant can also enter through the same place, especially after you turn it off and coolant pressure is higher than oil pressures..

Iv noticed oil in the coolant reservoir what could it be 02 trailblazer 4.2L any posible answers

depends on the type of oil in the reservoir!! Typical issues that will cause this on your 4.2L I-6 engine; 1. (usually pink/reddish oil) trans fluid leaking via faulty radiator, blown head gasket from overheating (severe), or someone accidentally added oil to your radiator!!

I put oil into the radiator, what do I do?

OK no big deal you are not the first and you wont be the last.
First thing have you run the engine since putting it in the radiator if not good...iF YES then it will take a little longer. but dont worrie
Take the bottom hose off the radiator and turn the heater to hot let out all the water and some oil will come out but not much as it will stick to the sides of the engine and radiator etc .
Refit bottom hose and tighten up the clamp then remove the thermostat and refit the top hose Now fill with water to 3 " from the top Now add 2 egg cups of washing up soap suds to radiator refit cap and start and run till the temp gauge gets to 1/4 up and then turn off and let it cool down for 1/2 hr and drain again ,and do the same 2 more times .
them on the 3rd drain it should be clean water and refit hose and check all clamps and wash thermostat and refit (the same way it came out)
refill with either coolant or Antifreeze and with heater still on hot start and run and all will be OK..
Let me know how you get on RON

I accidentally got water in the oil part of the engine

Definitely DO NOT start the car...drain the oil pan, replace the plug, and refill with the proper amount of oil. Start the car and run until the engine temp is at the normal range for at least 15 minutes. Then drain the oil, change the filter, and refill with fresh oil.
