Question about 2007 Ford Sport Trac Limited

1 Answer

I have a 2007 Ford Sprt Trac and just received a Sirius receiver for Christmas. My stereo has the AUX button, but I cannot find where to connect something via AUX. Any ideas?

Thanks. I thought there should be a jack, but I can't find it. Was wondering if it needs to be wired into the unit directly.

  • ropitz Dec 30, 2010

Correct. This is a more accurate picture of my console, but there is no jack there either. Thanks!

Actually when I hit the AUX button, I get a message NO AUX AUDIO.

Hi, usually there is a 3.5mm stereo jack input for the aux. If it isn't on the front of the unit, it is probably hidden somewhere in the truck--like in the console (that's where it is in my wife's 08 mustang). If your owner's manual is correct, it shows a picture of the jack near the cigarette lighter. See picture below. Please let me know if you have more questions, and thanks for using FixYa!

OK, if it's not there in the console, maybe they just didn't put that cable in your truck. Hopefully there is a way to tap in on the back of the head unit. Pull the bezel off the radio/climate control panel and take the screws out for the radio. Pull the radio out slowly and disconnect the cables as well as the antenna. Check for some kind of aux output or jack. If it's not there, you may have to buy an adapter. I saw one on when I was researching your truck:

Hi, before tearing your dash apart, I may have sent the wrong picture. Does the one below look more like your console? And the jack isn't there either?

Interesting--you have the right radio. When you press the AUX button repeatedly, does it switch to "Line in"? I wonder if the wire might not be sitting under the console, and they just installed the wrong console. If it's there, you could either install a jack yourself or just attach a cable with jack on the end that you could route to a convenient spot.

OK, that means the cable is not installed in the head unit. There is probably a connector on the back, since it is clearly designed for that option. Let me see if I can find the OEM cable...

Hi, apparently there IS a connector on the back of the head unit, but it can only be used for either radio controls in the rear or the AUX input. This is an extremely poor design. If you had rear controls, why would you trade them for an AUX input (maybe if you had no kids? or maybe if you have annoying kids?). Anyway, you can see the cable here:

If you DON'T have the rear radio controls, pull your head unit out to see if the connector is there. If it is, you're in luck--only another $100 bucks and your Sirius may be working soon. :o(

The AUX button is on the ford radio to be used with the rear dvd system, if there is no dvd player in your vehicle and there is no SAT button only the AUX you can instal the auxiliary audio input adapter, this plugs into the back of the radio and will allow you to input clear audio into the ford radio preamp

How do I remove the stereo from my 2007 Sport Trac?

  1. Lift the console lid.
  2. Take the two screws out from the front console cover. It is the cover that goes down around the shifter.
  3. Remove the cover by pulling up from the back.
  4. Next pull the front cover off from around the radio. This cover goes all the way down to the center console.
  5. Unlug all connections.
  6. Take the 4 screws out from around the radio that hold it in.
To install just repeat the steps in reverse.

How do remove rear rotors on 2004 ford sprt trac?

After removing the calipers they should come right off. There may be a couple of retainers from the factory but just take a pair of dikes and cut the retainers. you do not need to replace them. Us a heavy hammer and give it a good hit to break the rust bond. Depending on rust you may have to hit it more. It should slide off.

Hope this helps

No sound from turntable

1 ensure your reciever is also set to AUX .
2 try another AUX device such as an MP3 player or CD player and check that your Receiver AUX function is working.
2. connect your Turntable to another input such as DVD, CD, or Tape to see if it works at that position.
ensure that the correct button is selected for which ever position you use.

How to hook up the sirius stratus 5 radio in my 2008 rav4?

I have sirius installed in my 2008 RAV4 JBL system.
There is an adapter made by VAIS technologies that is called a soundlink. It comes with instructions for the connection. The Sirius radio is hidden in this installation, and is controlled by your JBL system. The antenna runs up the side of the windshield (hidden behind the plastic moulding) and mounts to the top right corner of the roof.

HOWEVER- you will not have the full funcionality of the Stratus 5 radio- which has more funtionality that the JBL system can control. Also, the Scrolling feature on the Stratus 5 screen does not work on the JBL display. . . you get the first 15 or so characters, with no scrolling.

I love having an integrated satelite radio in my car, but I do miss the better screen, and the pause feature I had on my sportster (in my old car). Good Luck.
