Hi

Most likely the cause is either the MAF sensor or the EGR valve, probobly the latter of the 2.

change out both the speed sensors for the transmission...when one goes bad the next will soon follow. A call to a parts store or ford center can get you the location of where they are located.

When driving 40mph let go of steering wheel car pulls to the left ,2002 toyota avalon


Try flipping the front tires right to left and so on car may have a radial pull road test to see if it goes right or strait (first check tire pressure )

it could be your transmission not ingaging into 3rd or 4th gear. or your plugs or plug wires were damaged in the process.

Car noise: loud grinding/pinging. Louder when accelerating up to 40mph. Not as bad when idling/over 40mph


Could be anything from a bad knock sensor to an internal engine problem. Try a stethoscope test if you can duplicate this racket while in park.....accordianman
