How can I replace rear cylinder head freeze plug?

You have not mentioned the year, make, or model of the vehicle, but I will try to give you a heads-up on this job from your picture.
You will begin by removing the freeze plug that is in the engine, being most careful to preserve the hole without scratches or nicks where the new one is to fit.
One way is to pry it out with a screwdriver.
You may wish to put a small piece of wood on the engine so you do not damage the engine with the screwdriver, since it appears to be made of aluminum.
It appears the old plug is sufficiently damaged as to prevent inserting a screw into it and prying it out that way.
Once you have the old plug out, you will tap the new one in with a hammer, gently.
Some people use a liquid gasket sealant in the hole to guarantee no leaks.
I have used a 1/2" or a 3/8" socket that fits exactly inside the new plug to use to prevent hitting the new plug with a hammer.
You will be most careful to make sure the new plug goes in straight. Some people put the new plug in the freezer overnight to shrink it to make it go in easier.
God bless your efforts.

Is there "Freeze Plugs" on a 1994 Mercury?

Virtually all engine blocks have freeze plugs. They serve two purposes:
  1. They are designed to burst out of the block in case the engine coolant freezes, preventing a cracked block.
  2. They allow for a more thorough cleaning of the engine block when the block is "tanked" during rebuild/remanufacture.
One thing to consider...what weight of motor oil are you using during the bitter cold months? Heavier weight oils get very thick on the cold mornings. This makes cranking harder and increases engine wear. Check with a local dealer and see if the manufacturer has any suggestions for a thinner oil in the cold months to make starting/running easier.

Where are the freeze plugs on a 2000 ford tauraus 3.0 flex fuel engine

No, I don't think any engine has freeze plugs on the front of engine. They are on the side of the block, just under the exhaust manifold, usually 3 on each side. Freeze plugs are easy to replace as long as you can get to them easily.

I have a 1997 Chevy 1500 Silverado. The front freeze plug is leaking. I need to know how to repair this problem.

heres how i have done it. drain out the cooling system, drill a small hole in center of soft plug, put a wood screw or similar in the hole to pull the plug out. be careful not to knock it in the engine. clean around place where the plug goes. then put a good gasket sealant around where plug goes, then tap it in so it is even with block, but do not knock it in the engine. let sit for a while then refill system and check for leaks. auto-zone probably has a good sealant for the soft plug. good-day ! beveled side in engine.

Battery replaced and now A/C vents front blowers don't work, only floor blowers work. Lights dim, battery gauge flickers down when truck is idle. Check engine light comes on steady, then goes off...

The exact same thing happened to me... my lights don't flicker but my A/C is having the same exact issues.... if you find out what happened please let me know as well.
