Question about 2001 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Open Question

I have a 2001 chevy silverado 4.3 liter engine. Recently I replaced the coil due to lack of starting. I have put on new relay modulars, one that is next to the coil and one that controls the communiction on the crankshaft. On 12-24-2010 all the truck would do would just turnover but not start. Had the battery tested and it tested bad. Put on a new battery and did the same thing. After letting it set for approximately two hours it cranked right over. Today 12-29-2010 it is doing the same thing. Just turning over and not starting. It has started every start since replacing the battery except for today. Any help would be grateful

Are you sure its the starter? did you try it in neutral? could be park neutral switch, or ignition switch, or if its a standard shift maybe it has a switch on clutch that it has to be depressed to start and its bad. As far as jump starting you cross the maine or big post on starter to small or little post on starter to do that, on a v6 starter it on the right side under exhaust manafold, and i think its on the same side on a 4 cyl.

Hi

Have you checked the EGR valve, and or the air flow sensor? both could cause it not to start!

Also ensure the earth battery lead has a good connection to the car body from the battery.

Please get back to me if your unsure about these parts.

Regards
Dan

I have a 2001 Chevy Blazer with 4.3 liter have to keep putting gas in throttle body for it to start. What might be the problem?

if your car starts after putting gas in throttle, means that you have no sufficient fuel feeding and one cause is the injection system not providing the need fuel, pressure regulator the second cause,or the fuel filter is blogged.

2001 chevy silverado won't start when warm

Possible weak spark from ignition coil or low fuel pressure due to weak pump. Try spraying carb clean into intake throttle body when problem is present. If vehicle will start and run with a little spray then fuel pump is failing.
