Check the tag bolted to the cover on the rear axle. If it has already been removed, check the tag on the cover (also bolted) of the front rear. 3:55 and 3:73 are the most common. Otherwise, if you remove the rear cover, count the teeth on the big gear, then count the teeth on the smaller one (right or left). Divide the larger number into the smaller number to find the ratio. Hope that helps. If so please rate my assistance and leave a testimonial.

Just replaced the rear axile, now Jeep makes a whining noise in the rear and it is boiling over the vent tube, what is going on?

If it is pushing gear oil out the vent hose,it is
over heating

The new axle bearings, etc are not going to last long

Was it rebuilt or work done on it,because quality reman
axles with the proper fluid & fluid level don't have issues.

Diffrental !

You can only use other Grand Cherokee rears.
Check the gear ratio on the tag of the rear. You need to replace with the same ratio.
But in your case since it's a 2x2, you can use any other ratio as long as the tire sizes are the same.
This will not affect the speedo accuracy.

Complete rear differential (rear axle) needed -HELP !!

How about a junk yard?
New are from dealers only, unless you search for one on the internet.
You have to keep the same ratio because of the ratio on the front diff.
