Question about 2004 Acura MDX

1 Answer

2004 mdx 90k replaced battery a few weeks ago, this morning wife said it would not start. Making some kind of a sound but would not start. She tried it a few more times over and hour period and then it started. She shut it off and it started right back up. I was thinking starter but wanted to get another opinion. never lost clock time or radio presets. I was surprised to find out that the Oreilly stores in my area do not even have an alternator for the vehicle.

I had a loud noise on my 04 mdx. Sounded like a bad belt. Took it to my mechanic and he found that the belt wasn't properly on the alternator. when i bought it, it had a new battery put into it. the dealer i bought it at had put a new battery in it. It was probably not starting, thinking it was the battery but it wasnt. It was the belt.

Really sounds like a battery connection. Try this, turn the headlights on, then try to start it,if they get dim,its a low battery,if they go OUT it's just a poor connection, most times it's just battery cables.

It sounds like you hit the nail right on the head. If your battery has a good charge then the problem is either your starter or your solenoid. However you cant really replace just the solenoid now a days because they started making the starter and solenoid all as one piece quite a while back. If you replace the starter it should solve your problem. I hope this helps you out.

I have a 2004 alero. a few weeks ago it seemed like it was surging? it went away then yesterday it seemed like when I was at a traffic light it wanted to jump right through the light. When I went to pass...

That is so weird, because my 2004 Alero was doing the same thing a few weeks ago. I took it one morning to the auto place because I was really worried, but it didn't do it again while at the shop. It hasn't done it as badly as that one morning, but it occasionally idles a little high. Still haven't been able to figure out way.

Chrysler Intermittent Starting Problem

I have the same problem with my 2004 Chrsyler Concorde, however mine didn't start doing this until a recall involving reprogramming the cam shaft sensor was done. But I have exact same issues and no trouble codes appear for dealer either. My guess is that it is the cam shaft sensor, which I am going to get replaced. If you solve yours first, please post and let me know.

My car is making a clicking sound when I turn to the right and just started making the sound when I turn to the left. It is getting worse everyday and in the morning is when it is really bad. What needs to...

Clicking souns is usually the result of the u-joint boot being busted and then sand and such get into the u-joint and destroy it, menaing you have to replace the entire assembly. It's best to fix the boot before the damage is done, and it costs less to.
If you have both sides doing it, it will be a few $$$$.

2004 dodge durango won't start

If you haven't had an alternator / charging warning light on, i would suggest it's the battery, or dirty connections.

2004 Acrura MDX navigation system goes blank after disclosure.

I had the same problem and carefully cleaning the map DVD solved it. After years of use, a film gets built up on it. It is under the front passenger seat.
