Question about 2001 Ford Focus
Open the trunk, and remove the plastic panel that is against closest to the bumper (rear). You will see the wiring harness for the lights. It should be in a plastic tube. It will have a seam down the middle of it. You need to check the wiring at the connectors. and the grounds. Another question is, are the sockets the bulbs go in rusty? You may have to replace the sockets if they are. To me it sounds like a loose ground or wiring problem. the harness will run for both sets of lights and split by the drivers side. Your problem is between the split of the harness.
