  1. First try to emptily your fuel tank as much as you can.
  2. Then remove the fill hose and also the vent hose. They are both next to each other.
  3. Then place a jack under the tank to support it in place and undo the two straps that hold the tank up (the bolt are the ones that are the furthest under the truck. there are two. the drivers are slipped into the chassie)
  4. Then slowly lower the tank with the jack (when you have the room remove your wire connections.
  5. Now lower it the rest of the way and slide it out from under truck.
  6. Before you unscrew the fuel pump make note of which way all your connections are facing.
  7. Unscrew pump and replace with new one (Make note of your float that is in the tank and that it is clear to float all the way to the top or your fuel gauge wont work.
  8. to install reverse the process

may not be a fuel issue. maybe senor problem. first check the map sensor and make sure you have good engine vacuum going to the map sensor.if the map test good , check the tps voltage.

Issues with the carbourator.

mcdevito75 here, A Faulty fuel pump could be the cause, Or and a dirty gas filter, have the shop check it out.
