Get another arm at a local junkyard. about any late 90s GM are will do as long as it comes from the same side. take your old one along to make sure they give you one just like it and make sure the base is not stripped out like your old one.

Wiper linkage and pivot assy bad? 2 left shafts rotate under power, but far right shaft does not (turns hard by hand)

You have power so electric is ok..Sounds like you have stripped wiper arm connections/post and/or wiper motor gear...or possibly bent operating assembly,,,first remove the arms from the post.they should have a small locking device just under the arm at the bottom..move it out and the arm can be released and removed..once both are off check for stripping on arm and wiper if not stripped turn the wipers on see if they operate..if they do shut them off and let them come to a normal stop...then reapply the blades in the normal operating positions and turn on,,adust if needed..if not check for bent and binding of the rods..It not the motor gear or motor will need to be replaced..If you are mechanically inclined it is nit that hard of a job..there are good videos on UTUBE just ask how to replace wiper motor for you vehicle.Good luck..

Windshield wiper on passengers side stopped working.

The wiper arm is either loose or the gear has stripped out the arm socket itself. Try taking the arm off and turn the wipers on, if that gear still turns, then try tightening the arm back down. If it is stripped, you must replace the arm. Otherwise, if the gear still doesnt turn, the connecting rods under the cowl have been damaged and may need replaced.

How to fix wipers only the right one will come on, have a 2004 silverado

Hello wallacetony5
First, remove the left wiper arm and see if the round fine spline gear that drives the arm is turning.
If not, the problem is with the wiper transmission under the cowl. Could be a broken or disconnected linkage arm. If the gear is turning and it's not stripped then most likly the wiper arm is
stripped. The trans. gear is steel and the wiper arm is aluminum and more often then not strips first.
This is a very common problem this time of year when the wipers freeze to the windshield.
Hope this was helpful.

My driver side windshield wiper gear is stripped out allowing the wiper to go were it wishes. It either travels to far and ends up getting stuck on the driver door or it goes to far down and ends up...

Knowing the make and model of your vehicle would help immensely. From your description and my experience, I would say it's not a gear, but the wiper arm itself. Where the arm mounts to the wiper transmission (aka motor), there will be a plastic or sometimes metal cover, gently pull or pry upward on the edge of it to expose the nut that keeps it in place. Remove this nut and then the arm, and inspect the 'teeth' or splines inside the hole on the arm, and on the wiper transmission, where the arm mounts. Most often the arms are made of aluminum, and the transmission is of steel, so the arm will strip first. Usually the arm can be replaced (try a junkyard for a low cost replacement) without much effort, and a few basic hand tools. Also be sure to clean any residual material from the wiper transmission where the arm mounts prior to installation, a piece of steel wool or brillo pad usually works best. I hope this helps, and good luck.

Wiper blade on my 98 C230 goes a quarter of the way up then stops and makes clicking noise for about 10 seconds. When I move it by hand it will go back into start position. Should I still try the lube...

sounds like the gears inside of the wiper mechanism have gone bad. there is a strip of gears in the shape of a half moon that the wiper motor rides on in order to move the wiper blade back and forth. When those gears strip out the wiper will only move a certain distance and then stop. One way to tell is if you can move the wiper arm by hand. When the gears are good the wiper arm should not move at all by hand.

Windshield wiper for rear window does not work we can hear a clicking sound come from the motor of the rear windshield wiper

If you hear a clicking sound, then you know you have power. Check to see if the motor arm is moving any at the wiper arm.The small cap that covers the wiper arm to motor can be pulled apart, to see if the nut is loose or if the gear housing is stripped on the wiper arm, or if the motor drive is stripped. These are say to check and are cost effective for you.

Wiper moter comes on, but wipers do not engage,, just started after being frozen down.

remove the blades - and see if the little geared knobs turn ?

lift the hood - look close to the fire wall where the geared knobs go through and look for the arms of the wipers having come off the motor - look around - - look again - get a friend to help you look and you might see it - a clip or something having come off
if not maybe the gears in the motor stripped -

Replaced wiper motor, twice, when i turn it on the arms move about two inches, then stop .then they.sound like there slipping .just move up &down about two inches. 88 celebrity

This doesn't sound like a motor problem but a gear stripped. The motor and gear are normally sold and installed as a single unit. See if you can move the arm manually. If you get a lot of slop it could be a stripped gear. Turn the wipers on and move the arm manually. It may catch and than stop at the broken part of the gear.
