The head light switch is in the multifunction switch under the steering wheel. its wiring harness comes out from under the cosmetic cover of the steering column and attaches to the car's wiring. You need to get your head up under the dash and see where the connector plug/socket is being pulled apart by the downward motion of the column. or just leave it forever in the full up position. i would do a search on youtube for "dodge ram dashboard" and hopefully you can watch someone else doing it to see how the lower dash comes out on the driver side.

you have a short in the dimmer switch on the columb you will need to see a shop to have this repaired because the steering wheel will probably have to be removed

Passenger side headlight only works on high beam. Have replaced bulb, still no low beam

If you put it in; did you touch the bulb with your fingers? If so, I've seen bulbs pop as soon as they're put in. The oil from your skin leaves a residue, and the heat goes to it, and blows the bulb. wear jersey or latex gloves when you re-install new bulb. If it still doesn't work, replace headlight bulb socket

Shift lever on column came loose inside column.

no, u shouldn't have to pull the steering wheel. pull the cover off the column, there are 2 or 4 nuts that hold the column up to the dash, remove them and let the column lay on the seat- u should disconnect your battery before doing so. you can get to the shift tube from there- most likely u'll find that the bushings have gone bad and need replacement.

How to repalce a high beam switch on a Plymouth grand voyager as well as the headlight switch. My headlights do not work and the high beams only stay on if I pull back the high bem switch on the steering...

pull dash panel and remove switch hardest part is getting the knob off. you must insert a small screw in the slot to release knobe. if its in the switch on the collum you would have to remove the sterring wheel to replace. haynes and chilton manuels for your car are a good way to learn about it and there only 20 bucks at parts stores. berrydalewolf

92 gmc seirra headlight go on and off but does not affect parking lights or tailights. I have already replaced the headlight switch and checked the grounds. I even put a volt meter on the battery and dont...

OK, This may not be a 92 gmc solution but I hope it helps. I had this problem on a non-gmc. The Hi-Lo switch on the sterring column grounds a relay to activate it and cause the switch to hi-beam. With Hi-beams on the steering column switch would loose the ground while turning the sterring wheel. The lights would shift to low-beam and back to hi-beam several times BUT looks as is they were going on and off. I run a new wire from the top of the steering column to a new ground to provide a ground path. The problem was cured.

Everything relating to do with the wiring is in the steering column, if someone has cut the wires going into the column and taped them back together in order to pull the steering column out for service the wiring needs to be replaced. the good news is if that is your problem it will cost you no more that about 30 dollars to fix it, the bad news is you have to pull the column to replace it. I hope that shines some light on it for you.
