Double check your connection and then check your fuses. Make sure the lights are grounded too. They won't work if they aren't.

Do you have it hooked up to the ball when you are testing? 4 Leads covers L+R turn (2) Brake (1) and Running lights. You don't have a ground.

Trailer running lights

First fix the shorted trailer lights, then check the owner's manual all fuse info is in the manual. If you don't have the owner's manual go to the GM owners website and download a free one there in pdf format.

Some people wire trailer plugs differently. If the plug is not wired differently than yours, make sure the tow ball is clean. No rust. That's where the trailer gets its ground from. Usually they will work if thats the case, but not right. I can't remember what the wire colors are right now. Go to etrailer and look up the diagram.

I bought a new 2001 one ton chassis and had a flat bed put on it. They installed a 4 prong female plug(the round kind) for trailer lights. The other day I tried some of those temporary magnetic lights on...

I would look under the rear of the truck to see if the brake wiring got pulled off. When hitch plugs are installed they have to tap into your brake wires. If they fell off they might have pulled all of the wiring loose so nothing will work.

All lights work and brake light at top works. brake lights on bottom left and right don't work. It was hook up to trailer wires connection. going down the road and when you turn on the right turn signal...

Check a few things...
- The bulbs
- Check for ground at brake lamp connectors
- Check your wiring at the connectors for power
- Check for another fuse blown
- Do not hook up the trailer until you fix the ground problem on the trailer
- On some models, there is a module to control the rear/trailer lighting system. There may be a problem in the module.

Hooked my 2007 Sprinter camping trailer to the factory lights/brakes hook-up located below bumper of my 2005 Silverado 4x4 extended cab truck. Everything works fine except for the right trailer turn...

Is this a 4 way or 6 way connection system? If your truck is wrong, then all factory equipped trailer package harnesses would be wrong, tell your trailer guy...I don't think so.
Is this the first trailer you have hauled?
Let me know, and we will go from there.

Truck and trailer wiring

The fuses and relays for the trailer are isolated from the regular running lights, I believe the fuses and relays are in the underhood power ditribution box.
