Take the VIN to a KIA dealer, have them cut a key for you.

What is the towing performance of a kia sportage 2ltr 4wd

Kia lists a maximum trailer towing mass (trailer plus load) of 1800 kg for the Sportage but that figure would be illegal in NSW. For light commercials (such as the Sportage) in NSW, the regulations state that the loaded trailer must not exceed 2/3s of the gross vehicle mass (GYM) of the towing vehicle. The Sportage's GVM is 1928 kg, resulting in an allowable maximum towing mass of 1292 kg. Even this figure could be beyond the Sportage's reasonable capabilities, given its sub standard handling and its overall levels of performance.

HOLD keeps coming on in my 99 kia sportage what does that mean

Look on the shifter lever, just bellow the push button. There is another push button there. That's the one you press or depress to keep the transmission on 3rd. gear. Just press it again and the hold light should come off.

The only manuals that I know are available you have to purchase through Kia and they are rather expensive. I believe around $100 or so. I did purchase a Mitchell computer program and CDROM off of ebay a few years ago. It helps some, but is not as good as a Chilton or Haynes manual. I think I gave around $30 for it.

Our 1999 Kia Sportage will stall when you are coming to a stop.

Try replacing the sensor at the outake manifold. it looks like an O2 sensor. It detects gases that are coming out of the catalytic converter. it is sometimes mounted on the pipe or the back side of the catalytic.
