Hi

They are now called air mass sensors, or MAF sensors, if you look on the air pipe system you will see a cylindrical part with a wire coming from it, un plug the wire and remove the cylinder part this is between 2 air pipes so you will need to unclamp them. it should be the only air pipe with a wire so easy to spot.

Hope that helps, if not get back to me and I will send you an image.
Regards
Dan

Airflow mass code 12 still on after replaced

there was mod to sort this out way back, the air flow connector plug was prone to corrosion a repair kit was used to fit a new connector with gold plated contacts but check the wiring back to ecu or try retensioning the connector female contacts with a small watchmakers screwdriver or similar and apply contact grease, or you may have air leak after the air flow meter hope this helps.

My chevy blazer 2000 ha a p0101 code changed the mass air flow sensor still does not want to accelerate

Hi there:
This code is set when the MAF (Mass Air Flow) meter is not sending the PCM the correct information. This can be due to a bad conection of the rubber intake hose between the MAF and the Throttle plate opening, a dirty air filter, a dirty mass air flow or a bad mass air flow.

Most programmer have you tie into the iat sensor in the mass air flow. this can cause the the iat sensor oto short out.

Hope helps.

The airflow meter is defective, inside the meter is a set of contact points that keep the fuel pump energized, they are what is causing the stall out.

Ok is the engine maagement light on.If so your air mass meter will cause the problem. Some times the managemen light does not come on when this is faulty. This air flow meter is lockated on the inlet manifold pipe by the air filter box secured with two clips.Unplug and slacken clips and replace.Quite a simple job.You dont have to reprogram this meter, the e c u will detect it its quit an easy do it urself job.But make sure you get the genuin part. There are so many out there cheapys.Dont go there they want work and you will find your self out of pocket. The cheap air flow meters are not calabrated for your car.Hope that has helped you, let me now how you get on.

I've got a 328 i 2001 model,it was serviced two weeks ago but it does not have power, when i drive it seems like its cutting, the mechanic told me it needs air flow meter, the brand new one is expensive...

I would look at the air filter, if it wasn't replaced, If it's dirty replace it. Then check all the vacuum lines and hoses on the vehicle. A dirty enough filter or broken vacuum lines will pop a Mass air flow meter code. One other thing you can do is clean the mass air flow meter, use brake clean, do not use a brush on it. You can also clean in the throttle body as far as you can, open up the plate and clean behind it to, you can use a brush on this. When you clean the throttle it will take a few seconds to start the car. Try this first. MAF meters do get contaminated and will mess up the performance of cars.

You MUST have the air flow meter installed on your vehicle. The car will not run if you remove it. The Air Flow Meter measures the amount of air coming into the engine, and also the air temperature. This information is sent to the fuel injection computer, to determine the proper fuel to be injected. In reality, cars with "air-flow meters" do not really "benefit" from a cold air intake, due to the inherent restriction that the air flow meter causes, as it measures the air.
In short, I would not install the intake, you won't see much benefit. The graciousness of a FixYa rating for my assistance would be greatly appreciated..
