My 2007 GMC Yukon has 120,000 miles. Recently, I noticed that when driving the vehicle, the RPM do not drop, or reset, as the car accelerates. Instead, the faster the car goes, the higher the rpm's go,...

You have a failed transmission that will have to be
rebuilt or replaced with Reman

The flair in the rpm & gear change issues, should
have been the clue

How does that happen on a 7 year old vehicle ?

You fail to change your transmission & power steering
fluids every three years & those items that should last
15 years & 150,000 or possibly more, are given a death
sentence.

Trans fluid breaks down from heat in about two years &
like all fluids the additive packages are used up

Brake Fluid --every 2 years
Spark Plugs --every 3 years or they wear & stress the
ignition system

Motor Oil-well-you do as you please

I change mine 3 times a year,which is about 4,000
miles
When we worked-four times a year

I have a 2014 vehicle that I got in march
Changed the oil this Monday at 711 miles
WHY- it has been in there 4 months (remember
3 times a year) BUT --i keep my vehicles 18 years

I have one that I have had 30 years

The trans fluid --I will be doing soon
WHY- because I once owned a trans shop
& know what wears & when

Most wear, you ask-yep-the first thousand miles
& this vehicle has NO Filter, just a screen

02 millenia o/d problems

Can not eliminate it & you should not be
using any vehicle, even ten miles, with a
transmission problem, or you will be spending
thousands to fix the eventual damage

Have it checked out, trans shop, dealer, local shop

You can ruin the motor if you got no OD

If this was a problem for the first owner & it is a
12 year old vehicle, having once owned a trans shop,
I think it is internal

If you like the car & got $3,500 to spend, fix it
or get rid of it

I was driving my 2005 dodge Dakota today and my transmission overheated I let it sit and the overheat warning went off in no time... well half way home my tire literally started smoking and it was coming...

Failure to change your brake fluid every 2 years
Neglect to take the brakes apart once a year to
remove rust,inspect parts & lube things,plain & simple
Now you need new calipers, new rubber flex hoses, &
service the rear as well & flush the complete system
If the trans overheated that may have to come out & be
rebuilt, don't tell me no on the trans I used to own a trans shop
You change trans & power steering fluids every 3 years or less
Why would you drive one mile with a trans warning light & then
smoke from a seized caliper
Also the over heated caliper may have ruined your wheel hubs
Don't mean to be hurtful, but you have to work on vehicles a
couple times a year, take things apart for no reason in most
peoples minds
You should never have has one issue on a 2005 vehicle,
it's neglect,I'm sorry

Codes p0700, p0755, p0700pd come up. whats the problem?

Any 700 code is a trans related issue

Have no idea what specifically

I have the code discriptions ,but I wouldn't use the vehicle,
until you have it diagnosed & resolved

Having once owned a trans shop,I will tell you it can
be ruined in a 3 mile drive, one time out & today I have
no idea of cost, but in my time you were around $1200
to $1800 in most cases
Today a wrong choice ,such as a dealer, your in for
several thousand, for some reason

My 2004 deville shifts a little rough at different speeds. It seems to do it when the car is warm to hot.It does not leak.Would a transmission flush help the problem? It has 76000 miles.we bought it with...

You Change Trans & Power Steering Fluids every
30,000 miles on ALL Vehicles

I don't suggest flushing,some people do

If you want to chance having problems get
it flushed

You remove all the fluid it may just start to slip

You have to understand that fluid changes DO NOT FIX
A THING

The fluid removes heat & breaks down
That is why it is changed

I would assume you don't flush brake fluid every 2 years
Trans & Steering every 3 years,not over 30,000 miles
Spark Plugs at 60,000 miles

When you buy a used vehicle you lay it up for two weeks
& work on it,never drive it
All Preventative maintenance gets done,regardless
of what you were told about the vehicle

I have a 2000 Ford Expedition (Eddie Bauer), 5.4 with 65,000 miles. It has recently started having a hard shift from 1st to 2nd gear in a slow acceleration. I have serviced the trans filter and fluids,...

You should change trans & power steering fluids
every 30,000 miles on all vehicles,if you don't from
when the vehicle was new,you will have problems

Changing the trans fluid only restores the heat removal
properties,it does not fix a single thing, at all

The shift stratagy is determined by several things

Check that the TPS Sensor is working without worn
spots inside it.

No adjustments to make

You could have the sensors checked with a scanner
while driving it.

You have a delayed 1-2 shift

The are servos that apply bands etc,I think
in the end you will be pulling the trans to rebuild
it,as you will be chasing several possibilities, that I
believe will be hardened internal seals from time,
wear & mostly heat

You didn't mention mileage or other past issues
with the trans etc or if your the second owner
etc

They don't normally go 11 years

there is no band to adjust for your problem, the only bands are for stopping movement in the trans to to go to reverse,if your transmission is whining it is a problem with the front pump assembly ,

Loud Lifter possibly stuck! Help please!!

The ticking lifter on the Loyale is a common problem. There's a small o-ring between the cam tower and the head that, after so many hundreds of thousands of miles, would "fail" (not to a dangerous point) and the lifters would be partially starved of oil. It's not THAT serious... they can go hundreds of thousands of more miles like that. If you replace that o-ring, replace it with a spring reinforced ring so it doesn't fail. Those can be found at wwwdotthepartsbindotcom. As for the Legacy... those early 2.5s were cruddy. I've seen alot of them throw rods, lock up WAY before they should have. Best bet would be to replace it with a slightly underpowered but bullet-proof early model Legacy EJ22 or go with a newer EJ25. I would just go with the 2.2L.
