Question about 2000 Honda CR-V

1 Answer

My Honda CRV fails to start every now and again. This has happened three times in the last year? I`ve changed the spark plugs but this made no difference and the problem remains.

80.,000 mile service for 2007 Honda CRV

What ever you have done for decades with all your vehicles

I treat all vehicles the same for 50 years

I have my own schedule that far exceeds the useless manufacture
maintenance joke & exceeds the after market professional suggested preventative maintenance

Your close to timing belt change at 90,000 or 6 to 7 years

I would guess if you have to ask, you could work on it for a
week or two to get caught up

Spark Plugs-every 3 years
Brake Fluid -every 2 years
Trans & Power Steering-every 2 or 3 years (or their going to fail)
Not changing oil every 3 to 4,000 (motor problems for sure)

Could go on for 50 items

Common Sense-just keep working on them all year round

Brakes come apart once a year or sooner (or they have problems)

Have to road test with scan tool a couple times a year, to look at data

The useless manufacturer items your asking about, are in your owners manual

If all you do is wait on what is in the owners manual, you will
break down & ruin your vehicle

There never has been any mention of brake fluids, trans fluids
& the silly 100,000 mile spark plug nonsense, doesn't even
exist

The ignition modules or coils would be fried, if you went that long

People think the transmissions are sealed
There is not one sealed transmission out there

Wonder they they fail alot,no fluid changes &
too much TV nonsense & internet nonsense
about it & fuses & relays,those items don't fail

Changed transmission fluid on crv now car wont start

might be that you accidentally disconnected the crank sensor close to the transmission, this gives a no start condition without a check engine light on most cars...

How check the power on ign.coils on 03 honda crv

alright 3 posts.

what does "I believe mean", in the real world its good , bad.
using a test spark plug, its got blue -white, spark x 4?
this is a 4 banger right> dohc ?
2003 CRV had 3 engines, sold .
2.0 L I4 K20A4
2.2 L turbodiesel I4
2.4 L I4 K24A
if you cant post the engine, nobody can help.

id use a strobe light to see if #1 fires near 0degrees. about
if way off the cam belt slipped and DOOM is knocking at that door
my joke , is some times starts are a blessing, saving the bent valves.

the compression you did was wrong.
the K20A4 has 11:1 compression ratio.
and warm to hot compression is 210PSI. do to that high CR.
on cold engine (can start) 190?

So 120 is a hard fail, i bet the cam belt slippped and you dont do
belt servicing like the book, if all try, bending the vavles is your next event. (saved by only 1 tooth now... )

My Honda CRV 2000 starts ok in the morning, but after turnng the eng. off and on ( going places in the city ) after the 4th time, it will not start ???

Your Ignition Coil could be the problem. It is starting to fail. It's losing contact and won't ignite your spark plugs when the engine is hot.

We've got a '54 Honda CRV 2.0 l petrol which has a timing chain that has slipped. Any advice?

you could have bent valves but try fitting it on and start but if it does not then u ll have to take your cylinder head off (chances of bending the valves 90% and that is if u tried stating it or when it broke when the car was driving

'03 crv has 60,000 miles. I would like to replace the spark plugs

Make sure the plugs are gapped to spec, before installing, check condition of plug wires as you do the change, or change them at the same time to be sure.

Hope this helps.
