The engine is working fine, there is no heat. the coolant is not circulating into and out of the heater core. so you have a circulation problem.

1) there is an air bubble in the core,
2) there is a bad valve in the heater hose operated by the switch which turns the heat on,
3) or the heater core is plugged.

work on those , probably the last one as it is most expensive and difficult to repair.

start by checking the cabin filter and replacing if necessary. That's the source of outside air.

1996 Honda Passport overheated. Heater started only hot air when moving, then would go cold at stops two days ago. When it overheated today, a lot of steam came out of the radiator cap. I noticed the...

Ususally when the heater blows hot air only when the car is at hight RPM is because low coolant in the system. It sounds like a bad thermostat . In the worst case you need to do a diagnostic check to the head gasket. Because the first thing to get blowen out when the car over heat are the head gasket.

Power Steering and Heater wont turn on only blows cold air.

check the coolant level in the radiator first. check before you start the car. if you have to add coolant, you will then need to locate the source of a leak

95 passport-replaced fuel pump,upper engine gaskets/rings-now blows smoke

If the smoke is white... hold off you have coolant leak in to a cylinder or two which you'll need to correct ASAP. DO not run in this way or the coolant (water) flashes to steam which will cut and pit the cylinders and head. If it is blue smoke it may be several thing (assuming correct bore/piston size. The cylinders were not honed properly, rings improperly installed (were oil seals replaced on the valve guildes in the head?) Either way it would appear something is not mechanically correct and you'll need to get back in to the engine.
Good luck with it and I hope this may have given you some direction,
Tom

Check your RADIATOR. it probably has a leak or crack or both..Well, i guess if its leaking it must have a crack. This is most probable to your problem affecting the air cold to hot vice versa.
