My brake light is out on the drivers side of my 1999 Toyota Celica GT. My husband cannot seem to get his hands on the bulb for extraction. What is he doing wrong? He is coming from the trunk door opening...

I think you should see screws inside the trunk and on the back of your tail light then unscrew them and you'll be able to get the whole tail light out and then you can take the bulb out by turning the bulb cover. Good luck

1999 grand am gt makes a loud noise

There is a common issue with the 1999-2005 Grand Am with the ABS/Traction Control system. The problem ranges from being intermittent, usually during slow-speed turning maneuvers, to constant, every time you drive the car.

The problem usually is tied to the wheel speed sensors, or the electrical connections to these sensors. The front seem more problem-prone than the rear. As 'first-aid', the preliminary step usually involves removing the wheels and inspecting the wiring and connector If everything looks intact continue on.

Disconnect the connector, clean the contacts, give it a dab of dielectric grease, and reassemble. If the problem persists, it is best to have the DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) read to determine the malfunctioning component. Once that is determined, replace the malfunctioning unit. The wheel speed sensor is part of the hub assembly and can not be purchased separately.

Please rate this solution.

Power windows and rear popping

Check the switch first, use a 12 volt test light to checke the contacts while you operate the switch. as far as the noise goes you should check for a loose shock mount bolt, crawl under the car and have a look.

Rear view mirrors

It's usually a mechanical problem and they really aren't repairable.

I replaced the ones on my 83 Celica GT with replacement units that I bought on-line from Redneck Auto Parts for about $60 each.
