Question about 1997 BMW 328

Open Question

I have a 1997 328i 4 door sedan BMW - a year ago it started to take awhile to warm up - some shuddering, vibration in wheel. Mechanic at BMW dealer told me it was probably a cracked cyliner, but only some kind of "wet test" would tell. I did not have the test done and am still driving it. It has gone several thousand miles this way. Due to radiator problems, it has overheated twice - new radiator installed. Decent pick-up speed, but not like it used to be (I love this car!) Vibrates at most speeds, but I am able to do up to 70 with little problem but the vibration. I was told the repair job could be up to $6,000+. Is there any other possible problem it could be? And, how long do you think it may still last - currently at 150,000 miles. Thank you.

MY 2005 EQUINOX AWD front right wheel intermittent braking and shaking

Could be caused by a sticking/failing CV joint. If you check boots and see cracks or tears most likely the Joint then got debris which could lead to failure.
Confirm that it FEELS like brakes are active but your NOT applying brakes. If this is the case then my thought on CV joint would be first check. I had one fail a few years ago and it was similar. Vibration started and then I could feel the vehicle slowing.

If you ARE applying brakes and you fee the shudder or vibration then it may be related to a tie rod end. A worn tie rod allows the wheel to go off track slightly and the result we feel when driving is a shudder or vibration.

Hope this helps guide to a solution.

Brake vibration

When the shuddering starts pull off the road way get out and feel the rotors on all 4 wheels. If any are very hot you have a caliper piston hanging and holding the brake pad too tight against the rotor.

08 accord ex-v6 auto. engine vibration @ idle in park or (gear at stop) when engine is cold to warm until it fully warms. dealer states it's normal. dealer showed me another accord with similar shake.???...

I've got an 08 4cyl and it doesn't really have the vibration unless its really cold. Usually if I give it about 30 seconds...when the rpms start to come down, its barely noticeable.
