try another key key could be faulty or the ignition key immobilizer control module and ECM faulty.try this procedure remove all possible sources of signal interference from the key ring. switch ignition on for 5 seconds then switch off ignition. wait for 10 seconds switch ignition on 5 seconds again then switch ignition off. wait 10 minutes again then try start engine if engine dont start problem in the immobilizer control module, ignition key or ignition switch keylock cylinder,or ECM problem. have vechicle code scan first before buying new parts.

Replace ignition cylinder

The key has to be in the switch, battery unhooked, turn key to start position, insert probe into small hole above cylinder to trip the wedge, and pull out.

How to fix ignition switch

I can help you. however more info is needed, please tell me the vehice make, model, and year. Also the ignition switch your refering to is the electrical portion of a ignition lock assembly, if the vehicle has a standard lock that uses a key, (not push button start). if the lock is damaged or no keys...then the part you need is a ignition lock and key, not ignition switch, :) *some imports have this assembly, lock and switch as a unit*, and are not servicable, in this case the entire ignition assembly will be required.

I believe your problem is the igniton switch itself. It may not be seated properly or the pin didn't connect to it holding it in place sufficiently

Ignition switch

lol ok. turn the key until all the lights on the dash come on. then there is a really small hole just under the switch that you will have to put a really small screwdriver in and hit it to push the lock button. while you do that pull the switch out. and just push the new one in and thats it
