My 2002 V6 Camry has an intermittent stalling out problem. It drives fine until I stop at a light on the Bronx River Parkway. Then it goes totally dead and can't get it started until a few minutes have gone by. Fuel injection was cleaned out by my mechanic, but the problem continues. I have brought it in to my mechanic three times, and the car is still there with the hope he will experience the stalling out. I fear my car will cause an accident with cars trying to go around me. This has happened to me five times in the last 6 weeks, two of which were on the same day.

The car stalls out dead on various places on the Bronx River Parkway and the beginning of the Taconic Parkway in Westchester County, NY. It only happens when I stop at a light to or from work after I have been driving it for 15 or 20 minutes at about 50 miles per hour. Then I stop for a light. It did happen once while driving locally when I stopped at a stop sign this past summer. My mechanic has taken the car for extended periods of time and nothing happens when he drives it. Months can go by and nothing happens and then it can happen 3x in a week. I've driven 3 1/2 hours and back to Massachusets and nothing happens. I really would like this problem fixed for good. It is annoying and I worry about being rear ended. I do put on my emergency flashers right away. When trying to start there is no rolling over of engine. Red dash board lights on and radio still works. After 3 minutes or more car starts right up and drives as if nothing is wrong.

So far, my gas tank, fuel pump and gas tank filter have all been recently replaced. I was told the gas tank was rotted out and the gas filter was filthy. I spent over $1,000 for this! Again, the stall problem continues.

Should I take it back to the dealership from where I bought it? My car has 107,000 miles on it, and being a Toyota, I expect a whole lot more.
