2.7's are a problem motor. You must change oil every 3000 miles or you will have problems due to the tiny oil passages in the heads. They will give cam bearing trouble.

Crankshaft endplay double the max spec 01 sebring 2.7L

check for after market thrust bearings ( federal mogul ETC) . next option is to have an engineering shop manufacture the thrust bearings . IF you cannot get thrust bearings then you have little option but to junk the crank as a floating shaft will give you problems with timing belt/chain alignment and ignition timing along with crank sensor problems.

Need 2001 sebring convertible connecting rods torque specs

most vehicles are around 25NM plus 30? i just tighten them with a 1/2inch rachet and **** and you not far wrong ,make sure you fit the end shells in the right way around as some use a oil hole in the con rod to squirt oil up the bore now most sets of bearings will have holes in all the end shells but i come come across some that dont ,so look carefully also a bit of grease on them will help the initial start up ,yes i know what the manual says but you cannot beat the grease

2005 pontiac sunfire 2.2 L my son hit the oil pan and leaked all the oil out and car i repired oil pan filled back with 5/30 oil started the car a lifter noise was present but went away but as we...

i think you need to take the oil pan back off and take a good look at the rod bearings, this engine sounds a lot like upper end noise when the piston is hitting the bottom of the cylinder head because a rod bearing has spun.

Hello, This is the problem i am having. my 2001 chrysler sebring ran low on oil for some unknown reason and the oil light was coming on. Shortly after the engine started to have a knocking sound to it....

i think your engine may be junk now. its a good idea to check oil on any vehicle daily as suggested in any vehicle owner manual. the piston rings could be worn out causing it to use oil or a bad head gasket, or maybe u have a oil leak you dont know about. wish you luck, id probably get a new car or replace the engine since more than likely the crank shaft bearings are junk causing a rod knock

Chysler sebring 2001, Hesitation while driving looks to have jumped time. some times hesitates tio start then throws an engine light. Is this a timing chain issue? It's happening more frequently.

Read and write down OBD codes . Flick ignition key back and forth quickly 3 times from on to off and write down all the codes dispalyed on the odometer. google make model OBD codes on net and find out what is wrong with your car.

My 1998 sebring is hesitnant when going into gear and now the encine light is blinking and my car makes a banging noise and will bearly go? whats wrong with my car?

Call a tow truck, do not start the car.
A blinking engine light is a sign of severe engine trouble, continued driving may cause engine failure. The banging noise sounds like you may have thrown a piston rod in the engine, this means that it needs to be rebuilt or replaced.

04 ford ranger rod bearing

Your vehicle timing chain jumped a sprocket
spinning a bearing means that the bearing does not get enough oil between it and, it's rod; causing the "babbet" a soft slippery metal lining the bearing; to heat up and, weld it's self to the crankshaft or. piston rod
