I lost power steering on a 2007 Equinox after changing the serpentine belt. Any suggestions?

Are you sure you have the belt installed correctly? Not hard to make a mistake. Did you get any oil or fluid on the belt? Did you change belt tensioner at same time? Usually a good idea.

My 2007 have a stabilitrak on and service traction control. Car fills like the brakes are on

Do you have a check engine light on? If so, get the codes using an OBD2 checker and see if the stabiltrak or/and the traction control are having problems. If not, pull the wheels and check the condition of ALL the brakes. Only one needs to be grabbing to give that effect.

How to reset stabilitrak on a 2007 chevy equinox

Your vehicle has electric power steering !
The Electric Power Steering (EPS) system reduces the amount of effort needed to steer the vehicle. The system uses the power steering control module (PSCM), torque sensor, power steering motor rotational sensor, power steering motor, discrete battery voltage supply circuit, and the GMLAN serial data circuit to perform the system functions. The PSCM and power steering motor are each serviced separately from the steering column assembly. However, the motor rotational sensor is serviced as part of the power steering motor, and the torque sensor is serviced as part of the steering column assembly. The PSCM also monitors vehicle speed from the engine control module (ECM) via the GMLAN serial data circuit. At low speeds more assist is provided for easy turning during parking maneuvers. At higher speeds less assist is provided for improved road feel and directional stability.
Stability System Indicator The IPC illuminates the stability system caution indicator when one or more of the following conditions exists. The EBCM sets any one of many VSES-disabling DTCs. The EBCM sends a serial data message to the IPC requesting illumination.
Traction Control System Indicator
TRAC OFF The instrument panel cluster (IPC) illuminates the TRAC OFF indicator when the following occurs:
?€¢
The electronic brake control module (EBCM) inhibits the traction control system due to a malfunction in the traction control system. The IPC receives a serial data message from the EBCM requesting illumination.

?€¢
The Body Control module (BCM) detects that the traction control switch has been pressed (signal circuit is low). The Body Control module (BCM) sends a serial data message to the EBCM in order to disable traction control. The IPC receives a serial data message from the EBCM requesting illumination. The BCM sends a serial data message to the radio in order to activate an audible warning.

Your best bet is to take it to a ASE certified an qualified repair shop ,that has the diagnostic tool to fix this problem .

Today my co worker asked me to jump their car for them so i did, as i have done many times before, but today when i tried to pull out of my parking space a light that said "service Stabilitrak"...

You probably need to have it serviced. It could just be a fuse or relay. As you have found out the stabiltrak has something to do with the steering and suspension, and I believe the braking system. I had a 95 monte carlo that would show the stabiltrak light when I hit a pothole. I never really understood it myself. Sometimes if the jumper cables touch and spark they can cause electrical problems to the car that is doing the jumping especially these newer cars. Another thing sometimes you can unhook your battery for about ten minutes and it will reset your computer, but be careful if you have a theft deterant radio. unless you have a code it will lock up in security mode. you should have a code for this in your manual if this happens. Also tell your friend to get a new battery or a new alternator. Good Luck! I hope this helps
