SOURCE: ford aerostar automatic transmission repair

Lay it down flat and fill it about half way about 3-4 quarts. then install it onto the input shaft. Since the torque converter is part of the fluid drive system it will regulate its on its own when the rest of the fluid is added after the install. Hope this helps ~ Zach

SOURCE: flywheel and torque converter don't match

Match everything up side by side.If both units are identical in every way there is no reason to buy anything else. Aside from matching, make sure the one you are installing has all the same electrical connections.

yep damage is done that much pressure on the pump will for sure cause problems . the torque should be able to slide a bit anyways as long as the 2 teeth line up in the pump to turn it and it's on the splines inside it, there's clutch pack's inside that work on pressure .. oops did a bad thing not leaving any clearance . you could try a new pump but you may be throwing good money on a dead transmission..

My 2009 toyota corolla has a code p2757. Its related to a solenoid. how do I go about solving my problem?

well my transmission officially blew up due to the torque converter. I suggest dropping the transmission pan then taking the solenoids out and cleaning the hell out of them, drain as much trans fluid as possible and replace the gasket and filter. Replace the trans pan after putting all the solenoids back into place I also suggest using Lucas Stop Slip Trans Fix when refilling the fluid. DO NOT OVERFILL AND DO NOT UNDERFILL. Take your time on putting new good fluid in not cheap stuff. If all this doesn't work or make a change then the next step is to replace your torque converter. This in involves taking the transmission out pulling the T converter out and replacing it you also have to do a fluid change regardless even after you try changing it the first time to see if it fixed your issue. Any shavings inside the torque converter will contaminate your new fluid if the first fluid change doesn't work therefore 2 fluid changes would be necessary if you don't solve the issue the 1st time after cleaning the solenoids. Try these steps and get back to me and we will go from there. I hope this helps as a brand new transmission is 4,000 dollars. Good luck and keep me posted.

Check engine light is on. got these codes P0741, P0742, P2763

Ruled out how?

You still have codes for something

Changing trans fluid only gives you
new fluid,not a fix for anything,just
disapates heat better with new fluid

The codes are for torque converter clutch,so why not
diagnose the TCC Solenoid

I have replaced both Shifting solenoids and Speed sensors but when I put my truck in gear it makes a slight **** and stalls out. It starts up and idles fine but won't go.

can you roll trk? does it stall in any gear as soon as you shift? (rev/fwd) possible torque converter malfunction or trans shaft broke (internal failure) which has trans locked up. It is cheaper to get used trans than having that one rebuilt. Most trans shops offer free inspection but give all the same diagnosis it seems. We have to rebuild trans!! I have yet after 28 yrs have a trans shop say they will tear down and fix only that problem (unless it was the torque converter). If trk does not roll, remove rear drive shaft ( 2 wheel drive ) does it roll now? Is the fluid clean and smells clean? does fluid look dark and smells like burnt toast? I would just get a used trans with clean fluid present and swap, make sure it comes with the torque converter or buy new one. Sorry this has happened to you at the coldest time of the year, good luck

I have a 99 jeep cherokee the trans is leaking fluid out the front and I think the torque converter is clanking and pinging does , do you think it is the front seal and the torqu converter?

The noise may be flywheel bolts loose. What color is the fluid?
Red is trans= front seal in trans leak
Black is oil= rear main seal on engine

Leaking fluid in transmission

I assume u have an automatic trans., there are 2 types for that year, model 41TE, which to drain and fill for a trans fluid change is 4 qts, not including what's in the torque converter, and model 31th (14 bolt fluid pan) which holds 8.9 qts including the torque converter. Interesting how my source gave one w/ torque con. one w/out.
