Question about 1995 Ford Mustang

1 Answer

95 mustang 3.8l standard has a few different problems. 1) the car will shake when it shifts through gears its an automatic sometimes lil sometimes alot. mostly only when shifting about 45mph. 2) the temp gauge suddenly went to the far right and buried the needle now even before i start it. The next day the gas gauge randomly moves up and down. 3) i cant fill the tank all the way with gas or i lose about a 1/4 tank of fuel from it leaking and spilling has anyone encountered this problem if so was it the filler neck or the tank somewhere? i dont have a place to drop it.

I sounds like you have an electrical problem with the dashboard. It will have to be pulled and checked.

I had the same problem with the gas tank on my 95 mustang. You are going to have to drop the tank. There is a rubber seal where the filler neck goes into the gas tank that has failed and must be replaced. You are losing even more gas than you think. Everytime you make a left turn gas is sloshing out through that bad seal.

What causes the shaking engine and bucking in gear (manual) on semi-cold start?

Check for a possible cold start injector problem or a possible motor or transmission mount that is loose or broken.

My 95 mustang runs good but sometimes the shift of gears races. then runs fine. and tranny was just rebuilt

if its an auto then i would take a look at the torque converter. if its a manual then clutch is probably responsable. good luck.

I have a 95 Mustang GT when it shits gears it's smooth but after it shifts it shudders a little like when a standard is put in a higher gear than needed. it has 124,000 miles on it I've had it for a year I...

A fluid flush is a good idea , and while your having that done check the transmission mount and motor mounts are in good shape and not broken. When filling the fluid back up I would add 1 qt of Tans X fluid it helps with shifting and older transmissions. Shuddering is a sign of a worn front pump or torque converter but you may be fine after the fluid change. Good luck and hope this helps.

It does not shift from 2 to the 3 gear in a 95 mustang ford automatic transmisson rpm go very high

HI, this is a defective control solenoid. have it replaced asap. it is located inside the trans pan. this will require you to drain the trans fluid as well. the control solenoid runs directly into the valve body.

Having problems with my automatic transmission in my 94 GT 5.0

It would be cheaper in the Long run for you to Rebuild yours and have a B&M Shift Kit Installed for the Kick in Shifting that you want. You might even think about Installing a Hypertech Performance Chip after the Rebuild. This will help with the Power, Air Fuel Radio, And Shift Patterns. Please Rate My Response! Thanks!
