Your power steering pump is more than likely faulty. You'll probably have to replace it. Check the fluid level in the reservoir. If the fluid is low it may work for a while after you fill it back up. If it does, don't count on it lasting very long.

2006 Ford 500 steering wheel locked or power steering not working. Check system alert and battery light turns on.

Call your Ford dealer and ask them if you car has a locking steering wheel.
Since "forever" ago, there was a were "star wheels" attached to the inside of the steering column, for the purpose of preventing theft by locking the steering wheel when the key was removed.. The bad side was that those locks can jamb if the steering wheel
is at the end of it's travel, such as can happen if the front wheel of the car is jammed against a curb when parked.
Your fix might just be to turn the steering wheel whilst trying to start it, though it may take a little muscle.
God bless your efforts.

1991 triton has very tight steering when turning

first check whether you do have a belt on the power steering pum p and is either loose or damaged and went off. If there bis a belt and is tight then do a test to confirm whether the power steering pump is working or not. Start the car and turn full lock to left or right an listen whether you receive any pressure sound like a squeak noise. If yes then there is no fault, if not the the power steering pump is faulty and either you have to recondition it or replace it.

My 2004 GMC Envoy XUV was squeeling then I felt the pressure in the steering wheel and now turning the wheel is like a power workout at the gym. Can I change the power steering myself?

Sounds like the power steering pump has seized up. The question of whether you can change it yourself depends on your abilities and knowledge of auto mechanics, and having the necessary tools.

My power stering is not working ok i have replace the power stering pump and i have check the sector and it is ok the car work well when it is runing but when i stop it turn hard i have check if it is air...

Power Steering Fluid Filling & Bleeding
  1. Repair the power steering system.
  2. Turn the engine OFF.
  3. Raise the vehicle so the front wheels are off the ground.
  4. Turn the steering wheel all the way to the left.
  5. Fill the power steering fluid reservoir to the FULL/COLD level and leave the cap off.
  6. Have an assistant watch the fluid in the reservoir while you turn the steering wheel fully to the right and fully to the left at least 20 times. NOTE: On systems with long return lines or fluid coolers, turn the steering wheel from lock to lock at least 40 times.
  7. Add fluid as needed to keep the fluid level at the FULL/COLD level.
  8. Install the reservoir cap and start the engine.
  9. Center the front wheels and lower the vehicle.
  10. Run the engine for about 2 minutes.
  11. Turn the steering wheel in both directions and verify correct power steering operation.

I have a 2002 Cadillac Escalade that has a problem with the power steering only when I pull in to a driveway to turn around and back out turning my wheel to the right. I feel a pull and it's harder to turn...

It seems like a power steering gearbox issue, if it was the pump it would be doing it all the time whether the wheel was turned to the left or the right. I would have the gearbox checked for wear and replace if necessary.

Steering wheel is locked nd wont unlock even with

Typically, the steering is preloaded. This happens when car is turned off with some steering assist being applied (whether you know it or not).

Often you have to manhandle the wheel in one direction or the other while turning the key.

Power steering

Support front wheels off ground. Chock rear tires, get an assistant for safty. Start engine (do not put in gear) step outside of car and manually turn wheels left and right by hand. Cut off engine. Turn key back to release steering lock. Manually turn wheels by hand again. If it requires the same ammount of strength to turn wheels, then Rack and Pinion is bypassing internally. Solution... replace rack & pinion.
