Generally if all the bulbs are good the headlamp switch needs a replacement. A ohm meter can verify that if you know how to use one

95 Chevy pickup 1500 with a 4.3 if you turn the head lights on or step on the brakes it stalls. But you can turn on the dome lights and heater control and it's ok. I have gone through the tail light...

check alternator drive belt for condition and tension. check for alternator out put. Have a load test done on the battery. From your description when heavy current draw items ( head lights , brake lights ) there is insufficient current available to run the ecm and power the ignition system.

When i go to start the car, i have dash lights and head lights but nothing when i turn the ignition

Disconnect your battery, make sure there is no corosion on the cable ends, reconnect it, making sure they are tight, try to start car, if still onloy head lights and dash lights, you may have a starter issue or a starter relay that has gone out. Take to mechanic to solve it.

This is a problem with my friend's car and she is trying to make it home. Coolant gauge is on hot. There is antifreeze in the car the coolant light is on and the check engine light is on.

The head gasket has gone bad and the engine is over heating, if driven any longer. The engine will need to be replaced if not, the damage is gone to far for repairs and the engine will need to be replaced.
Sorry for the bad news and hope your friend makes it home safe. Thank you for using fixya and god luck

2002grand am daytime running lights

99 - 04 grand am.

I had the "service vehicle soon" light come twice with in 1 year. First the heald light bulbs were gone. Replaced the head light bulbs and after 2 starts the "service vehicle soon" light was gone.

The second time the DRL - #194 amber bulbs were gone. Replaced these and the "service vehicle soon" light was gone after 2 starts. The DRLs are housed in the headlamp housing, the tiny bulbs beside the head light.
