Hi my name is are you? Ok i have recently fitted my golf mk1 with a stock 2l 8v,with a 38 weber on now 2 nights ago i drove all sweet and then i parked my car did my thinbs and then it whould...

One issue with old Weber style carburetors was the fact that, depending on how hot was the weather, after running the engine for some time and then stopping the car, the fuel on the carburetor bowl would evaporate due to the heat of the engine, thus making it very difficult to start/idle again. You would need to place an adapter between the manifold and the carburetor made out of something that would not conduct heat, some sort of plastic. I hope this helps

my first solution would be to check all the timing is set up properly and you will probably find that the distributor is not timed up right

Mk3 golf gti 8v can not swich the genuin alarm imobilisor off with the fob tryed new batterys in both fobs dont now if it has lost its cooding or somthing? car has bean standing for about 6 weeks

Check that the key still has the chip inside. If not then this can be solved by having a 'virgin key' coded up to your car using the long number on the back of the clocks.
Also try disconnecting the battery for a few mins, reconnect, then use the normal method to start it.
If this fails then its a case of following the wires back from the immobiliser and disconnecting.
