Your power steering belt might be loose or may have stretched due to weather related issues, or may have the adjustment worked loose. suggest you adjust the tension on the belt[power steering belt] youneed to have it tightened. you may even need a replacement pump. is it leaking fluid onto the ground? if so, it may be a loose hose or a busted hose. if you are mechanically inclined, please repost with specifics on if it's leaking fluid or belt is squealing? otherwise,i suggest you have it looked at from a professional. hope this helps and if you need further assistance with replacement of power steering pump, or directions of the belt tension, just ask. we will be happy to assist!

Power steering squeal

You should not turn power steering to extreme locks and hold them there constantly. The squealing is the noise the power steering unit is screaming," You are killing me".

What kind of power sterring fluid for a 2003 buick Ren

the number one mistake in newer cars is just adding automatic trans fluid to the power steering , any parts store will have power steering fluid marked for use in GM vehicles, ( most of it can be used in Fords, and other cars too, the only one I've come across that has a specific brand, is the one for Honda vehicles, )

My Chevy Equinox 2005 is making a noise when I turn left or right. the noise comes from the front wheels. I was trying to find where to put power steering fluid, which I could not find. What should I do?

depends on the noise , I know that sounds silly, but it works,, is the noise your hearing a clicking sound as you turn? if so, its the CV axles going out ,, From your info I don't know if you have the all wheel drive or just the front wheel drive, but if you hear clicking, its CV joints going bad, Now if what your hearing is a squealing noise, that would be the power steering pump, look at where your fan belt is and what all it drives,, one of those will be your power steering pump, some models have the fill tube for them right on the unit itself, and others have a off pump location for filling, however your year happens to be the a first generation and they used electronic power steering, and naturally you need to have it dealer checked

Hi. I own a 2004 Buick Rendezvous and I must say, it's the best car I've ever owned. Recently, like within the last 2 months I've had a groaning noise with every left turn. My husband filled...

he filled the PS fluid? it was low? If so it has a leak somewhere, usually the high pressure line. the rattle could be anything, have the front end and steering linkage checked. tie rods, sway bar links, ect.

It has power steering. Why does it steer so hard?

Do you hear noises while turning the wheel at low speeds or stationary? If you hear a whining noise check the power steering fluid level. A low fluid level would make a whining noise as well as cause stiff steering. If you hear a squealing noise check the power steering belt tension. A slipping belt would cause stiff steering also. If you hear no abnormal noises check to make sure the power steering belt is there. If all of the above check out ok you may have a bad power steering pump, steering gear or a blockage in a pressure line.

Loud squealing noises when I turn the wheel of my 2000 ford range

It sounds like the power steering belt is too loose, tighten it up a bit but not too much just enough to make slipping belt stop.

1984 Toyota PU 4WD 22R Engine Makes Squealing noise at PS pump

you have to bleed the power steering system. you have someone turn the wheels to the left while you watch the power steering fluid level adding as needed. than repeat turning the wheels to the right. and repeat until the noise seems to get quieter and you don't have to ad any more fluid.

hope this helped
please rate well

Winding noise

Change the power steering fluid. Use the Mercon V tranny fluid (also used in the power steering system).
