SOURCE: rear hatch door won't lock dash light showing

You need to tighten the lock mech on the boot lid. this will close the boot just enough more to turn the light on. It's no biggy, you might need a star driver depending on bolt head. move it into the boot lid approx 4mm to start. then 1mm until 10mm. if no joy then it may be the sensor.

Car ajar light and alarm goes off on 2005 tribute

Pits one of the five door ajar switches. They are located in the door latch mechanism that holds the door closed. The best way to figure out which one it is is to scan the body control module. With all the doors closed. It will tell you which door is giving the open signal. This will need to be done with a high end scan tool that any good shop or the dealer will have. The most common one to fail is the driver front door.

sounds as if your weatherstrips are leaking try spraying water from a hose around the door jams, then look around inside the car door (open) for evidence of water getting past the weatherstrips, where you find water in the car- that's where the air is getting in

check the buttons on the door assembly's ,, one is shorted , its getting stuck so the signal never stops sending , even with the car off you will get that signal for a short time, , you can check them by simply doing a continuity check on the little switches themselves, with the plunger out,, you should have a signal, with it pushed in, you should get no reading

Doors not showing closed even though they are closed and draining battery

You can check the switch in your door frame to make sure it is securly attached. It is a "ground" type switch so is it is not securly attached it will not work properly. You can disconnect it but the light will not come on at all when you open your door until you can replace the switch. I hope this helps and good luck.
